WOW looks nice! I really want to learn the rotary, but I am torn between the flex orbital. Now I have even more options...

So what exactly are the advantages over the 9227? It looks like it is heavier and has the same power...and a angled version of the same handle. Sorry if this is a stupid post...but I am really not seeing it:o

The Makita has a larger range of speed, 600-3,000.
The Flex's range starts at 1,000...

I personaly want to finish at around 800. (start at 800, go to 1000, correct at 1200, and then go back down)

Now I just have to decide between the makita, hitachi, or flex DA.

The wife would never let me get this without getting rid of the PC.... Anyone need a PC? lol

Same. Some polishes especially finishing polishes or some heavy cut polishes work better at low speeds. If it this could for go down even lower it would be even better...but I just don't see advantages over my 9227CX3. Well...it does look a bit nicer, but that is about it. Makitas are really built machines.....

My eyes deceived me ... I thought the ROB's were back in stock in time for Xmas.

bump. I am in the market for another rotary...would love to know advantages and disadvantages of the Flex.

TIA

I have a 9227XC3 as well and love it. The Flex will be a nice complement. I am looking forward to mine.
