Hey Guys,

My wife is picking up a new 2020 Ford Explorer ST in black. I have done a fair amount of correction on our current vehicles but have never used ceramic coatings and honestly have not been to active on the site lately. How easy or difficult is it to apply ceramics? We live in Western New York, so the next 3-4 months are likely to be cold, snowy and a lot of road salt. We would like to get this protected but with the cold weather and an unheated garage, it might be difficult to do this before spring. Any suggestion?.

Thanks!

Deano

I would suggest using the new 303 Graphene spray at this time considering your weather. Get it protected and it should give you time to apply a coating. Next easy choice is Dr. Beasley’s Formula 1201 to do entry level coating. Very easy to apply and gives the protection you can enjoy.

Just a few easy methods I have used.

Hummm....

Me? I prolly would just get the Explorer clean and get a spray on wax or a spray on ceramic just to get through the winter.

When weather warms up, polish and lay down some ceramic.

Use a coating lite from Car pros, gyeon, wolfgang or Adams.

If wanting something super easy yet good protection , Griots 3-1 Ceramic spray

Thanks for all of the suggestions! When we get a decent day, I’ll give one of these a try!
