New Formula ONR vs Dirty Black Paint

Thanks for the review! I almost low enough on my bottle of V2 to justify the purchase of the new stuff!

Great write-up, Nick! This product sounds like a keeper.

Tell me, would you consider that black paint to be 'hard' or 'soft'?

I'll answer for Nick because I've owned the exact same car (2009 G37S Black Obsidian) since May 2009. It is soft. Softer than ice-cream soft. If a fly lands on it, the paint scratches soft. Pollen is like sandpaper soft. You look at it and it scratches soft. Don't get me started on cats!

That said, whenever I clay it and slap on a coat of megs ultimate wax as a "temporary measure" placeholder type of thing to tide me over until I'm willing to take the time to do a proper correction, it looks fantastic.

Great way to sum it up! The paint is super soft indeed. I polished it a couple months ago and had great success with Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish. Expect a full-write up in the coming weeks.

Very Nice Review, as is the norm for you, Nick. :dblthumb2:
Thanks.

BTW:
This "old dog" learned a "new trick" from you today!
(My mixing ratio has been off a hair or two for the pre-wash spray solution when ONR'ing heavily soiled vehicles. )

:)

Bob

I've messed around with various dilutions and found that 1 oz per quart of water to be the slickest. Even when diluted 1 oz per gallon of water, it still provides excellent lubricity as a pre-treatment while washing.

What am I gonna do with all my 'OLD' ONR?

Clay lubricant. :)

The new stuff is worth getting, even if you're well stocked up of the old formula. :dblthumb2:

Sigh Nick. Well done as usual. In fact, I think my wallet thought it was an excellent review and placed a gallon into my cart. .....Thanks. :p

Great writeup Nick! One follow-up question: How many gallons of mixed solution did you need to finish the entire car? Is 2 gallons of water (plus 1oz of ONR) enough, or more?

Two gallons is generally more than enough, but I usually mix up three gallons, which equals 1.5 oz of ONR per wash. :dblthumb2:

you can get away with 2 gallons if you only use a grit guard in your rinse bucket

if you use guards in both buckets, then go for the 3 gallons.

I use a gg in both buckets and my leftover wash water (mark the inside of the wash bucket at the 2 gallon and 3 gallon levels so you have options) is saved for the next rinseless.

Just slap a gamma seal and lid on er and you're golden.

I don't know either, other than the parks that I once serviced were appreciative of the mobile guy as opposed to the owner DIY washes. Seems they parks took an interest in clean RV's as opposed to sun baked dusty units. Our biggest issue was PW noise levels, as the water dried quickly in the arrid ,windy Nevada days.

Just as an fyi from an RV owner, the rinseless is good because most RV parks don't want you using their water to wash these huge rigs that come in and park all summer. Water comsumption and being kind to thy neighbor are the reasons.

my nissan truck is black...the paint is soft...and after using ONR through the winter months, it needs a polishing....BAD
