I have used and like the so called forum favorite kit which is the Klasse Twins.I just did a search on it and i agree with rwright and Dr Oldz that if a new favorite was to be voted on which products would you chose. As with the twins i think it should be limited to two products as an lsp.

I think this it a great thread and will also provide feedback to Autogeek! :props:

Without going overboard I think this kit would provide the beginner or intermediate user most of the basic essentials to make an automotive finish look spectacular!!

Porter Cable 7424 XP dual action polisher
5" Backing Plate
5 1/2" flat pads
Menzerna Intro Polish Kit
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
Pinnacle Signature Series II Wax
Cobra Microfiber Super Kit

ONR
Collinite 840(saphire prewax cleanser)
Collinite 845
Pinnacle Souveran (or DDJ Supernatural has been big on the forum lately)
DP claybar
UTTG
Iron X
Sonax Full Wheel cleaner
Blue MF's w/ rolled edges
Stoners glass cleaner
Some extra applicator pads

Just my thougths of a basic kit under $200....

I agree that you can't exclude ONR or Collinite 845 in that kit. I'd also throw in Meg's APC, Ultima waterless wash, and Optimum Poli-Seal or Klasse AIO. You have most of the bases covered in terms of product.

Most of the members here are "lurkers", reading many posts prior to joining.

The way I approached this thread was to determine what I would need as a beginner. For the most part I would already have an over the counter car wash, probably something like Meguiar's Gold which is a very nice product.

An assumption I made was that the beginner would begin with a freshly washed finish using his favorite product before attempting paint correction and protection. One step I did leave out was claying and a lubricant...

From their perspective it made sense to include a machine in this kit. This seems to be an important step especially for the correction stage and attempting to correct paint without one may product somewhat less than expected results.

Understanding that the 5 1/2" pads are the preferred choice I added the line item along with the appropriate backing plate..

Fpr the most part I tried to stay with PBMA products lines, after all this forum is hosted by Autogeek. I did deviate with both the Klasse Sealant and the Menzerna polishes because of my experience with them.

:bump2: I'd like to see the midday crowd chime in some suggestions here.

I agree Ted, where'd they all go.........Hellooooooo...

I agree that ONR would have to be included in the kit.
I think the 5.5 low profile Hydro-Tech pads would be great. Simple system of pads that work well.
Others I would add:
Wolf Gang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Wolf Gang Auto bath
OPC
Daytona Speed Brush
Pinnacle Poly Clay
Cobra Microfiber mitt.
PB WTR

Have you guys looked at the current Forum favorite kit? If not look at this link.
Klasse All-In-One, Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, Pinnacle Souveran, Pinnacle Crystal Mist Spray Wax come together to create a forum favorite kit.

This kit is to offer some really great products that are way above the quality of OTC item and can be used with great results from pros to beginners with a nice discount. The results are after using this kit is a deep paint cleaning with great durability with a stunning look and a up keep product to keep it looking great. It should be products that can be used by hand for beginners or machine for more experienced. That being said.....What this kit should include is

1 A paintwork cleanser or AIO
2 A sealant with great durability
3 A top notch Nuba for a deep rich glow
4 A QD to wipe away smudges that can also boost the LSP
5 Some nice towels and applicators to use the above products

And being that AG is selling this kit it should include at least half PBMA products.

How about a kit for new car owners:

Claybar and lube
Opticoat 2.0
Reload

done

This thread is pointless. It should be relabeled as " Various stuff I like and use that would be cool in a kit"

Jim, I think you have given some good guidance to what a new "forum favorite" kit should include. I think this is more for fun and we all know that if we were all to come up with a good kit it still would not become a reality.

I'm actually thinking about getting the current Forum Favorite Kit with my next order. Got some Klasse AIO and loved it.

If you were to create a “forum favorite” kit based on popular products among forum members, what would you include? You typically present some great recommendations in AG threads whether people like it or not, so I am curious to your opinion.:props:
