Ok... so the forum now will not let you post within 300 seconds of an other post.

I think this is gonna kill a lot of the action on the board. I just deleted 3 of the posts I would have made if the forum had let me. I am not gonna wait 5 minutes to make a post.

I think you should seriously re-think this decision!

Oh well, it beats having a few hundred new spamming posts pop up every minute which is what happened yesterday and it shut the whole forum down.

You can thank robo spammers just like robo callers for this.

All hail autogeek for not shutting the forum down and installing this preventitive tool to curb robo spamming until they can figure out how to deal with it in a more effective way.

The alternative is to shut the forum down in the interim.

Which would you prefer?

I know it's crazy. I talk way too dang much for this rule to be in place. Lol.

The good thing is I think Admin said it was only temporary just in case China spammer tries a dramatic comeback.

Ok. Hopefully they can restore the forum to normal operations soon.

Yeah, I hope they can restore it to how it was before, this takes enough time as it is without having to wait so long between posts and will limit the amount of posting I will do... Geez! Spammers!

They did mention in another thread somewhere that this is temporary until they figure out a solution to the spam problem. vBulletin has some issues with this—we have over 900,000 fake registration attempts per year on the motorsports forum I own and admin, and with a few vB hacks, we keep the spam to almost zero.
