Hello Everyone!

I've been a lurker for a LONG time. I'm happy to have finally joined! I've been reading a ton of different threads about products, techniques, reviews, and so on. I've been a detailing and car enthusiast since I was a kid, having owned many different cars from many different genres. Within the last 10 years, life changes encouraged me to stick with the current vehicles. I do love them both.

2004 Mazda 6s - Glacier silver
2006 Mazda MX-5 - Sunlight silver (my 3rd Miata - I've owned all 3 generations so far)

As for the detailing arsenal, I recently picked up the following:

HF Dual Action polisher (I changed the grease and added a 5" Astro Pneumatic Backing Plate)
A few 5.5" CG hex logic pads
Wheel woolies and a gerbil brush
ONRW&S and ONRW&W (just to try them both)
CG Diablo wheel cleaner
Nanoskin Autoscrub Spong (the combo pack) I'll likely get the mitt soon.

I alread have:
MTM Foam Cannon
CG Mr Pink and Honeydew
Collinite 845 (holy moly I love this stuff)
Mothers Pure Polish
Griot's Paint Cleaning Clay
Griot's Boars Hair wash brush and wheel brush
Griot's wash pads
various microfiber towels
and various other items

I am so excited to try the Nanoskin and the ONR. I just need the weather to get warmer!

Anyway, thanks to Nick and Mike for all of their awesome information and to everyone else who has contributed to the many threads I've read that have helped me choose my newest products, as well as the products that I will be purchasing very soon.

Good times!

-Lee

:welcome: Lee! Congrats on having the bug and I'm sure your Mazda's will be some of the best looking ones around after following some of the info you find here!

Welcome to the forms.
I have the Nanoskin system (blue & Red) and I have to say that I love them. Your thumbs will thank you for not kneading clay anymore.
Clay still have its place in the hard to reach areas but besides that I'm almost never touch the stuff anymore.

Get your hands on some sealant and wax after your done with your cars you can at least protect them from there.
If you want suggestion on what i've been using let me know.

Thanks!

I've used the Nanoskin blue sponge (fine grade) once so far, It worked quite well. I'll likely buy the mitt at some point, but the sponge is a definitely clay replacement for me.

I've picked up a few items from Autogeek since my introduction post, including XMT Swirl Remover #3, XMT 360, and a few Lake Country CCS pads. I'm looking forward to using these, as well as a few other new goodies, in the very near future.

I'll certainly post results!

Welcome aboard Lee! My wife has an 07' Mazda 6 and we love it but I'm sure yours in much better shape because of where you live, we've got the dreaded "bubble" in the p/s rear quarter opening. That said though, the car had 29 on the clock when she got it and it now has 112k on and we have done nothing but oil and trans fluid changes, coolant flushes and a FEA. We're on our 2nd set of tires (Conti DWS' lasted 55k) its been a great car, handles great and pretty good on gas as its got the 2,3L w./ auto.

Anywho, enjoy your time here, lots to learn and everyone is very helpful, no real "search police" to be found either:props:

Thanks!

Wonderful!! I read your post on the Civic detail and it is look REALLY good dude, great work on the interior. You would've really been in hog heaving if you had a Vapor system to clean all the tight spots.. Would've saved you on the chemicals and tooth brushes, which I'am still using :/

I am in Athens and if you need an extra hand with the exterior let me know, I need little excuse to use my Polisher. :buffing:

Thanks, man! I appreciate the compliment. And yes, I would be ecstatic if I were using a steamer. Oh my gosh I'd get everything soooo clean!! I'd likely end up steaming the whole world!!

Yeah man, The one I want it like $800, I will buy it with detailing money when the time comes. It is great for EVERYTHING, not jut cars obviously. I am still building my detailing collection but I am not trying to end up with a bunch of stuff…

Keep us posted on your progression on the civic.
