Hey everybody, I'm new here and am pretty excited to start learning more. I am in the Army, stationed at Ft Hood in TX. Just got back from a 2 year duty assignment in Korea about 6 months ago and just recently picked up my first DA and a ton of different products. I am currently using a northern tools DA random orbital, which I know isn't the best by any means , but I am making it work as you can see from the roof reflection picture of my last paint correction job I did two days ago on a Wrx. I've been having a blast and look forward to learning as much as I can!
Thes first two are on the roof of the car after wetsanding some problem areas, clay bar, compounding, polishing, glazing, sealing and waxing then finally completing the little touch up areas, I thought it turned out pretty good.

Welcome to AGO!! Where were you stationed in Korea? I was an Army Brat and raised in Yongsan it was the 8th Army Base at that time. I have no idea which Division it is now.

You will like this forum and again welcome!

:welcome:to AGO and Thank you for your service......was stationed at Ft Hood myself many moons ago.

Kamakaz, Yongsan is still the main base in Korea and 8th army is still there haha. I was stationed at Camp Carroll, about 5 hours south and near Daegu. I loved it there, beautiful country.

Dad07 - yeah, I've only been here for a out 5-6 months now and Killeen is definitely a whole different beast from my last duty station haha. Nothing much to do in town, as to why I've picked up on learning more detailing more than I already have tried to learn. Definitely a satisfying thing when completing a car that's taken about 7-9 hours.

Thanks for the greetings, guys.

Watch out for the Girls from Temple, TX to your East

Wow!! I came to Stateside in 1974. That means the 8th Army Base has been there ever since!! I went to Seoul Elementary School there on base.

Way cool!!

Allen - no problem. Married, and happily at that haha. I've heard plenty of tales. Not taking any chances.

Kamakaz- they're probably using the same buildings as back then too haha. They have been talking about pushing the u.s forces back and slowly giving control to the south koreans for years now, if they will? Nobody knows! Haha.

My dad was in the Korean War and he helped trained the ROK Army way back when. He did tell me that the South Korean Army was very tough!!

All I do know that the South Korean Army as well as the South Korean (older ones) appreciate the US for saving them from North Korea. I am 1/2 Korean (Mom) and 1/2 American (Dad). My Dad retired E-7.

You are probably correct the buildings are probably the same since I left!!.....LOL

Thank you for serving and keeping us free!!

Huuuurrrraaaaaahhh!!!

Haha no problem.
Yes, the rok army is very extreme at times too, our katusas would all tell us stories about when they were going through their basic and up untill the point that they became katusas. Very, very strict and about 12 of them to a room the size of one of our barracks rooms. Crazy haha.

Welcome to AGO Thomas and thank you for your service!

Welcome to AGO. I can recognize the garage's interior design of your military housing; look's like Ft. Drum's.
You did quite well on the clear coat; for a couple seconds, I thought you took a picture of your garage door.
Once your buddies catch-on, look-out; you'll be busy unless you learn to charge appropriately, or say no.

Haha. Well they insisted paying for that one so I made 150 bucks off of it. They're going to start telling their buddies about it and so forth so we'll see how it goes since we are going to start going to the field soon AGH! I really have no clue what to charge anyways.

thanks! I have an issue with nicer cars with owners taking their stuff to the auto wash barn, embedding these horrible swirls. Well, we live off post, but yeah, the garage definitely looks like on - post housing haha. Very bare.

Here's a couple of the swirl removals I did on an electric blue STi a couple weeks back. I'm getting better I think and am starting to get excited and very satisfied at the end of a long day.

He hadn't waxed it in 1 year, maybe longer.
