My friend tipped me off to this forum and I'm hooked/addicted.
You guys have loads of info and are courteous which is refreshing for a forum (I'm looking at you XDA).

Anyway, I have a couple of dings and looking for some suggestions. Thanks guys.

Where are you located? There are plenty of members around IL that would be happy to lend a hand if needed... I'm in Peoria, IL
 
Not really a policeman, but my dad was.
I'm in the northwest suburbs and just happy it's stopped snowing.
 
So here is a picture of my scratch. This will teach me the closest parking spot isn't always the best.

Body shops are saying $400 - $500 which I expected.

Just looking for suggestions, not sure if i should just layer touch-up paint, then do the sanding/compound/polish technique or if I should use like bumper/body filler and sand, then use an aerosol prime/paint/clear coat the scratch?

Can you get a closer pic, maybe looking at it from the side?

In my opinion, you do not need a body shop to do this. You can touch it up a few times, sand it gently and polish out. It will look 75% better for sure.
 
Hello from Elk Grove Village and its not too late to come to our Chicagoland Detail Day! I'm on my phone and can't copy and paste the link right now but a simple search and you'll find it, there's one with banter and the other is the list, just add your name and your good to go! I'm sure people would love to help you with the scratch, then you can be around other detailing addicts!!!
