Hey Guys,
Been lurking for a while but now that I'm doing detailing for a lot more people I decided to make an account. I started getting into detailing a few years ago in high school on my 2003 Jet Black BMW ZHP. It was my first nice car and wanted to take care of it. Quickly realized how much of a pain Jet Black was but I'm glad I learned on it! My current 2007 BMW 335i is also Jet Black. Currently a senior at Virginia Tech but live in Chapel Hill, NC so I travel back and forth to detail

Last year I started detailing for friends now this year I've begun to detail openly as a summer job while taking summer classes. Really learned a lot and loving it! Most of my details consist of paint correction jobs which I really love doing since I love seeing the transformation!

Currently I'm using a Griot's buffer. Had it for a couple years and thinking of finally upgrading to a Rupes now that I'm doing full corrections on 1-3 cars a week. I'm somewhat partial to Chemical Guys products as I have good success with them. I'm constantly trying new products though so right now I'm using Menzerna polishes and LC pads.

If anyone is interested, here's an Instagram of some of the details I've done recently. Don't take pics every time as usually I'm very pressed for time since I do 2-3 details between Thursday-Sunday so working 12+ hour days haha

Anyways, glad to be here and can't wait to keep learning more and more.

Welcome from Whitsett! Don't be bitin' on my turf, homie!

:p

Thanks and don't worry bud. I work in the Triangle haha :xyxthumbs:

This isn't a real job for me, just do it as time allows for fun since I really enjoy doing it. Problem is I have about 3x more people wanting their cars done then I have time for haha.

Welcome Hokie335i! I have the exact same car in Black Saphire Metallic and have done a few mods. Same year too!

Nice, yeah I love the car! Doing a big overhaul this summer, wheels (just ordered), coils, M3 control arms. Car is FBO right now with right around 400hp at the wheels

Sweet! Yes, i have loved it since i bought it. I haven't had mine dyno'ed yet but i would guess i'm close to 400 as well. I'm FBO also (minus the exhaust but did do 3" downpipes catless. I think i have fried my secondary cats!) It is light years better than my previous one...2004 330Ci Orient Blue.

And i love Menzerna on that paint.

My go to for Jet black is M105 followed by Menzerna SF4500. Just used it on this 550i a couple weeks ago!
