Hey all!

I'm not "new" new, as I've lurked the forums for a few weeks now. I decided I should probably start posting sometime.

I'm not new to detailing, but I'm new to detailing the right way. I purchased a 2012 Scion tC three months ago, and it's white. I didn't realize how OCD I was going to be about keeping it clean. I have made 3 purchases so far with AG slowly knocking out my wishlist. This is what I've accumulated so far:

http://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-rinseless-wash.html
128 oz. Optimum Power Clean
Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid Paste Sealant 100 ml.
Migliore Wheel Seal
Meguiars Professional Detailing Clay Aggressive
2 Qty Special Purchase Guzzler Waffle Weave 28 x 44 inches
1 liter CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron Remover
500 g. CarPro Iron X Paste
P21S Windshield Washer Booster
2 QTY BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Rinseless Wash
2 Qty 16 oz Pinnacle Gel Wheel Cleaner
2 Qty 32oz. DP Microfiber Cleaners
17 oz. Optimum Power Clean

Now I just need to figure out what sort of polish/pads to buy. I have an older Meguiar's DA (got it in 2006 maybe), but it might be time to update it. Any suggestions?

Hey what's up!!! I'm from Northern Jersey. Good luck with the new Scion! I'm sure she is gonna shine.

Welcome to Autogeek Online!!

The old Meguiar's DA should be fine, just need to use 5.5 inch pads since it probably doesn't have the same amount of power that the new DA's have.

Welcome to AGO. Finally some more members from New Jersey.

Theres a lot of jersey guys here. Welcome!

I'm a girl. ;)

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone! :dblthumb2:

Now I just need to figure out what kind of polish I want to get, and if I even need/want to polish my car in the first place. :dunno:

Even though you have a new car, it's always good practice to wash/clay/polish/wax. You don't know how long the car has been sitting in the car lot, in the sun, collecting contaminants before you bought it, and the washing practices of car dealerships could be questionable, leaving swirl marks.

I spent all of yesterday stripping all the old wax and whatever else off the paint using OPC and TRIX. Then I Jetsealed it (got it super cheap and figured I'd try it), and topped it with a coat of 50/50 this morning. I figure in a few months, I'll redo it and try some other products out.

I'm not quite comfortable polishing it yet which is fine because the dealership did not demolish it before I took delivery of it. I'll be practicing on my Jeep.
