Hello,

I got my first new car about two weeks ago (2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ) and after a week really started to think about how to keep it clean. I just found the website and the number of tips I have found already are amazing!

I Haven't done much to the car yet, but I've got items in the cart already! So far I used Mothers Leather Conditioner and mothers Ultimate Plastic, Rubber, Vinyl Protectant on all the plastic.

This is my order so far:

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant 16 oz. FREE BONUS

Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towel

Do I need to polish chrome accent pieces before applying the Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant? What product would be good for polishing these pieces?

Any other recommendations right of the bat would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
James

Welcome to autogeek and the addiction :xyxthumbs:. Im in way up northern Illinois near Fox Lake. Where you at?

Congrats on the new car! For the applications of the Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant I would just us an APC (All purpose cleaner) and then apply the sealant.

I'm from Janesville. I usually head up to Wausaw snowboarding a couple times a year.

I've thought of a couple questions.

What would you guys reccomend for cleaning clear plastic(Covering gauges, radio face plates)?

I've read about Neverdull, will this be good for chrome tipped exhaust with some soot buildup?

Thanks!

Welcome :)
My mom has the same exact car in white. It's a nice car and rides really nice.
I applied my sealant and topped with Collinite 845...on all the chrome accent pieces as well.

It got driven in the rain the last few days but still has a good shine with the 845 coating.

The wheels on your car clean up great too. I never had to use anything stronger than my wash soap to clean them.

I couldn't be more pleased with the car, the Bose sound system might be the single best part.
I was actually wondering about the rims. I'm glad to here they clean up easy. Do you know if the rims are painted or anything?

Yes the Bose is great. I'd say the wheels must be coated with something... Just dont know with what. Maybe just clear coated?

Use a plastic polish on clear plastics and either a soft foam pad or a soft microfiber pad. Neverdull has been around a long time and has a loyal following and will clean those tips right up.

If they have a color, like silver or match your car then they are likely painted with a clearcoat on top and you treat them like car paint. I actually cover wheels and how to determine what they are made out of or coated with, (it's one or the other), in my e-book.

I put Collinite 845 on the wheels just the other day. Mom drove a few days in the rain and they held up great.
