Just a FWIW... The tank exchanges only contain 15 pounds of propane. If you own your own tank, you will be better off having it refilled than exchanging it. Refills are 20 pounds. That means 25% more grilling time per tank.
If you exchange your tank, you will find that they have modified the valve so that it will only take 15 pounds of propane. They also might have modified it so that it cannot be refilled without a special key.
I have had exchange tanks that leak and have since purchased 2 new tanks and only refill them. I take good care of the tanks and don't need to worry about getting an old beater that has a new coat of paint to make it look good. The price of a 20 pound refill is usually always less than an exchange plus you get 25% more gas.
Flash, can you recommend any fuel gauge for propane tanks? I tired a gauge but it was totally inaccurate. I see some that are magnetic, attach to the side of the tank, and use temperature (I think) to indicate the level of remaining propane. The Webers used to use a spring loaded weight to give the general level of remaining propane. The newer Webers seem to have a system of LEDs to show the fill.
