Hi Everyone! I was at Detail Fest this past weekend for a short while in the morning. I brought my mom and husband with me and it wasn't thier kind of thing. I wanted to stay longer MUCH longer but I was out numbered! :(

Anyhow, I love to keep up with my cars and keep them clean. I just here to learn some tricks of the trade! :buffing:

Heres some pics of my two black rides

My 1989 Merkur Xr4ti (the paint is about 10 years old.....)

Welcome to Autogeek! :welcome:

I was at DF this last weekend too!

Nice rides BTW! You don't see many Merkur's around these days....especially not like that!

While we did not meet at DFIV, I hope you will stay and visit the forum often. Nice rides, and well black too.

Always nice to have some girls here on the forum. Had to laugh at your statement about your family not wanting to stay long at detailfest. It would be the exact opposite for me, my wife would just stay home. She loves her nice clean car whenever she drives it but the actual process doesn't interest her at all. Welcome to Autogeek!!!!!!

Pat.

Hello from parkland and welcome aboard this fine ship.I see your a steeda girl .Dario Orlando is one of my neighbors.

It was a pleasure to talk to you at detailfest. Your cars look awesome keep up the good work.

Like the wheels on the Focus, what are they? Also what's with the lowering spring as a hood stay?

Thanks Everyone

Rasky1 Not many people Know what a Merkur is.

Killerwheels Thanks! Its the hardest to keep clean but for some reason I keep getting black!

Pat Yeah the same is with my mom, she likes to keep it clean but she always has me clay it and use my Porter Cable on her car. All the steps are boring to her.. My husband on the other hand.... He never washes his cars.... Forget about waxing them.

Harley Guy Yeah My focus Is a Steeda. I know Dario too, hes a really cool and very nice guy. My car has been in thier mags for like the past 3 or 4 years now. because of that I get pretty good deals over there. :D Your name reminds me that I should put up some pics of my bike.

Smokin! Hey you too! lol Thanks for telling me to post up. Everyones pretty nice!

nrengle the wheels are Koing sideways. The lowering spring is to help hold up the cheap crappy ebay carbon fiber hood I bought a few years ago. At car shows when its really hot the hood looks like its going to bow intwo pieces, so its there for support. I will be changing the hood this year. Me and that hood together is a love hate relationship.....

dublife Yeah singer island is pretty nice my grand parents have lived there for a little over 40 years. Thats where my dad grew up.

:welcome: Glad you joined us at Detail Fest!

God, that's like the 5th set of Konig wheels that I want to get. I'm really liking the Zero In's right now.

Seems a lot of people I know have that issue with CF hoods, it's like Vis and Seibon are purposely trying to put themselves in the crapper with those.

Yeah the new Koings are pretty nice Ive had mine for 3 years now I love them!

Unfortunetly my hood isn't a VIS or a Seibon. If it was I wouldn't be having the problems Im having with it. Within the first year it faded really bad and I had to get it painted black but ohwell. You live and learn. I'll be getting this one sometime this year Steeda Louvered Hood Steeda Focus | Online Store | Ford Focus Performance parts :D

This welcome thread is a few months old but what the heck...

Welcome to Autogeek Online!

I was at this year's Detail Fest too!

I had a good friend that bought a 1989 Mercury Mekur xr4ti brand new and we used to car pool to work and I always loved riding in his dual rear winged Mekur. He took real pride in ownership and every weekend he could be found waxing his car with Mother's California Gold Pure Carnauba Paste Wax.

Good to see a survivor still on the road. Bring it by one of our TNOG's in the future.

:)

Welcome to the Geek!

I have a buddy that would love that Merkur - he has built a few 2.3T's. Currently has a really nice '84 SVO.
