Hello, world.
I was a casual user of car care products until I purchased a 2004 Corvette about 4 years ago.
It was in SAD shape. I really wish I had taken pictures. Covered in "parking lot" scratches, water spots and the entire paint was hazed. I didn't know anything about paint correction at the time and have been slowly working on getting it up to fluff.
I've done a LOT of trial and error, but thanks to Autogeek's help and direction on the hydrotech pads and the 105/205 combo I'm finally making some serious progress. Waterspots are gone, almost all scratches are visibly eliminated (or at least, rounded down until only a brinkmann in a dark room has any hope of finding them.)
The only before/after shot I have of the car is the engine bay.
And then...
I know the above ^ still looks like a lot of people here's "before" shots, but I'm getting there.
I still have a love/hate relationship with this car. I can wash my Saab with the dirty wheel rags from the Vette and then dry it with a dirty towel from the bathroom and it looks great.
I let a dealership wash my car once and the paint looked like an artistic interpretation of "Charlotte's web"
Hopefully in the near future I will have the knowledge and experience to detail professionally on the weekends. Cheers.
