Hello all.

I've been looking through this forum for a few weeks now and after seeing all the good advice that's available here I felt I had no choice but to join.

My cars:
2013 Ford Ranger (white)
2013 Perodua Myvi (white)

I'm not an experienced detailer, in fact I've just started experimenting with some Turtle products. I know that Turtle is considered "cheap" by some, but then I suppose that makes it ideal for starting.

In general I'd realy like some advice on how to make my white cars shine here in the tropics. I want to buy a set of paint care products that will be appropriate for my paint color and the weather here without breaking the bank.

I look forward to any advice any of the members here may have.

Regards.

Yan.

Hi, Im mostly a silent reader here, but we have mostly the same weather and temperatures, im from Indonesia.

You should definitely start with prepping your paint first, yes it is a new car, but still try to clay it first, and use paint cleaners, before applying any wax or sealants. Cmiiw.

I usually use the finish kare 1000p, it suits our climate and have high durability, and it looks great on white, and it is also cheap, or the collonite 845, well I believe we wont have too much difference in price of most products in South East Asia.

There are also a lot of threads here about white paints, just search for it, you'll gain much more info on waxes sealants and maintaning a white car.

Styka.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just getting my feet in this forum but I'm starting to find some of the good info you mentioned.

Thanks.

Yan

Welcome. I have been to Singapore a few times but never made it into Malaysia.

Thanks guys.

This is a great forum. I've been here about 1 day and I've already got a load of great info.

Apa khabar, Yan? Selamat datang! (What's up, Yan? Welcome!)

I've spent a great deal of time in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and Japan. You live in an extremely hot and humid environment - perfectly understandable given Malaysia's proximity to the equator. I noticed that light-colored cars appear to be quite prevalent there, and I see both of your cars are white! You should consider using paint sealants as I've found carnauba waxes to fare very poorly there in terms of longevity.
