Hello everyone.

Been lurking for a couple days as I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my new truck.
(The old truck overheard a conversation I had and decided to die this weekend)

Will be making my first serious detailing purchase in the very near future.
Any pointers/tips the pros here can give will be much appreciated.

:welcome:
Yeah, look for products in each of these catagories.

wash-clay-polish (machine)/paint cleaner (hand)-protect.

I was looking into the poorboys stuff because it says it can be used in the sun. My problem is I don't have any trees in the front of my house so it is always sunny. Is there anything else that can be used in the sun?

Wash- I have a bottle of Meguires gold class
Clay- I'm thinking most are pretty much the same
Polish- PB polish w/ carnuaba blue (Do I need a machine for this? I know its easier but is it necessary)
Sealant- PB EX-P
Wax- PB natty paste blue
2 buckets with grit guards
Wash mitt (2) and/or boars hair brush

Welcome to the site. I'm sure members with a similler situation will pop up soon and steer you in the right direction. Good luck.

Very nice start. I'd make one change. I'd change the PB Polish w/Carnauba to PB Professional Polish for two reasons. One, you don't want to put many sealants over a carnauba. Two, PB Pro Polish is a chemical cleaner type polish that will respond well by a hand app.
Also, take a look at microfibre towels. They make a big difference.

Thanks all for the welcome, and thanks Jimmie for the selection help.

The wide array of MF towels is almost as confusing as the choices for the products.
I am thinking 2 guzzlers, and the bulk kit with 4 green, 4 blue and 4 yellow should be a pretty good start.

Yeah, it is a little confusing at first. Everyone seems to love MF's (I do) and it's said that one can't have too many. Your start looks good.
Good time to try the Cobra HD Guzzler (I got one but haven't used it yet account of rain. Anxious to use it.)
At some point you will want one of each in these catagories:
Guzzler
Edgeless (Indigo, Teal, etc)
Plush or Junior
Glass WW (very important IMO)
All purpose.
Hope this helps.
