Hello all,
Jason here from the great state of Oklahoma. Let me start by saying that I am very limited in my experience with auto detailing and even more so in navigating through a web forum. It took me three days just to figure out how to introduce myself. With that last comment being thrown out there, it will probably sound absurd when I say I'm a quick study. But with hands on things I am.
A month ago I purchased a new (black) Toyota Tundra. I swore I wouldn't buy another black automobile but it looked SO GOOD. The dealership washed and detailed it for me. The next day I was looking it over and of course there were minor swirls in the paint.
So I swore to myself that this vehicle was going to look good for the duration that I have it. I started searching the web on how I could fix these swirls myself and keep the truck looking new all the time.
Enter Autogeek.net. Holy cow there is a wealth of info on here. And what's more impressive is all the free tutorials and advice from the founders. Maybe that's the way it is with most Forums, but I like it.
I lurked for a while and found out about da polishing. The safety and benefits you get from this seemed right up my alley. If you can be an expert just by watching Mr. Phillips' videos, then I'm an expert. I've watched just about everything I can. My wife thinks I'm obsessed.
Anyway I have a DA polisher now, and I ordered what I thought would be a good start up kit from AG.
What I ordered:
5"backing plate
5.5" LC flat foam pads. 2 orange, 2 white, and 2 black
Wolfgang duo 3.0
Wolfgang paint sealant
Pinnacle clay kit
If you have any advice on using these products let me know. Hopefully I made a decent choice. As far as the polisher goes it is not from AG and I hope to get the Flex DA if my wife will allow it.
