Hey everybody, I'm new to the site and just here looking for tips on how to keep my truck looking good. It's an 04 silverado and since I'm in South Georgia, it gets pretty muddy and dirty on the regular haha.

Hi Tanner,

Welcome to AutogeekOnline! :welcome:

Hate to sound like a broken record in the "Introduce Yourself" forum but here goes...

If you want some tips or information on how to do "anything", the best thing to do is

Start a dedicated thread for the topic.

Right now the title of this thread reads,

New Guy From South GA

We have a lot of really nice forum members that make it a practice to "welcome new members", it's the polite thing to do.

Here's the deal though, I judge which threads I will click on, read and perhaps reply to by the title. Since I like to welcome people I see "intro threads" with detailing questions.

Lots of people don't click on "intro threads" so you won't get their help for your questions.

Now if you introduced yourself in this "forum group", and then went to one of the topical forum groups and started a thread with a title like,

Tips wanted for keeping my 2004 Silverado Pickup clean?

Then all the people, like me, that read titles, would know what you are asking for help with and you will get,

  • More replies
  • Better replies

That's how forums work... see for yourself. Click to the forum homepage and running down the middle are the most "Recent Threads". Read the titles and I'm sure some of them will "interest" you.

See what I mean? The title of a thread tells you if "you" want to click on it and read it and perhaps reply to it.

Right now the title to your thread reads,

New Guy From South GA

That title doesn't tell anyone what kind of vehicle you own or what kind of info you're looking for...

Just some friendly tips from a guy that's been posting to vBulletin forums since the software was introduced commercially in 2002. (and yes, I have an article on that).

Check these out too.....

How to write a good title for your thread

A tip to help yourself get great answers when you start a thread

And again, welcome to the forum, I too have a Silverado...

1987 Chevy 4x4 Monster Truck "Before & After" Pictures

Here's the before pictures from the extreme makeover to my personal daily driver. The condition of the paint is exactly how it was when I purchased the truck. These picture were taken AFTER I washed and dried the truck, so any staining of the paint is actually a physical stain in and on the paint, not simply water drops or water smears after washing and drying.

Fair Warning --> This is going to hurt your eyes...

Thanks everybody!

And Mike, I understand what you are saying about my post. I wasn't actually asking for any tips in this thread, but I see why you thought i was and how that was confusing. I guess I was just stating why I joined the site becuase I know I can get all the tips I need just by reading through other threads. But I appreciate the links and the help.

And your truck looks amazing, you did a great job with it. Im very jealous :urtheman:

Dear tanner

Welcome!

My wife's family is from Berrien County. My in-laws have a house in Nashville but live up here in Buford.

Man what a small world...I actually live in Thomasville man...what do you drive and what all supplies do you already have?

04 silverado and no supplies yet. I'm broke as hell and am here to learn what all I need to save up for haha

I am no pro by any means, but the vehicles that I have done so far turned out awesome. As close as you are man I have no problem showing you the products and helping you get your truck's paint in good shape. If you are only wanting to do this for your own vehicle, you could save a ton of money and just let me and you knock it out with my Flex.
