New guy - new Shelby

Just stumbles across this post

Regarding Tire Dressing - I would recommend Tuff Shine - its really amazing. I spent many, many years cleaning & dressing tires weekly for shows - Then I tried Tuff Shine a few months ago - now all I do is a quick wipe with a damp towel & dry with MF towel - DONE! Never mess with Dressing again. Just my 2¢

Does the tuff shine stay wet? By that I mean, does it transfer onto the wheels because it doesn't really "soak in" so to speak? I like the idea of this stuff, but I don't want my wheels to smear when I detail them.

No, it does not smear or fling off at all. It's completely dry & very easy to keep clean.

The stuff is GREAT!. I have had it on for 2.5 months (1,500 miles or so) & it looks just like the it did when I applied it.

After many many years of dealing with greasy, drippy & flinging dressings - this is the way to go!

BEST PART about this stuff is that after applied - thats it!
All I do for wheel cleaning is :
- Wipe the tire with a damp MF towel (general purpose MF)
- Wipe again with a dry MF towel to dry.
note: you will be amazed how the MF towel doesn't get any black from the tire when you dry it - its like wiping down a smooth plastic tire. The damp MF towel will show the dust/dirt that has accumulated on the tire - thats it.
- I spray some "Windex" or whatever on a third MF towel to wipe down the wheels (if you have chrome)
- DONE - takes about 45 sec per wheel.

Here is the rear wheel after 2.5 months (1,500 miles) just wiped with damp MF & dried

You can add many coats of the stuff - more coats = shinier tires. I put on two coats for a satin BLACK look

However, I think I am going to put on two more coats here shortly to make a bit more shinier.

Another interesting point is that when I ran the Autocross at GoodGuys a couple weeks ago, the high speed / hard cornering caused some of the Tuffshine coating to be "scrubbed" off around the outside edge of the Front tires - about 1/4" - 1/2" or so & a little on the rear tires.
I just took a small paint brush & brushed on a layer of the Tuffshine where it got scrubbed off & it was fixed - you can still see where it was scrubbed off, but you really have to look - it put the BLACK & the sheen right back to match the rest of the wheel.

I am taking pics of the tires every couple weeks & will be posting a nice review of TUFFSHINE - how I applied it & how it holds up over several months with weekly pics as time goes by - keep an eye out for it.

Here a few more pics of the Mustang as I am working on my detailing & paint correction.

You can see on the rear tires, outside edge of tire, where it was scrubbed off a bit from the Autocross.
Normally the Tuffshine "finish" would go around the tire until where it touched the road

^Sweet!!! I'll be getting some of that for sure. Thanks!
