Hello all My name is Billy, and I wanted to introduce myself.I just got a new black Miata, and was wondering if a really good hard wax will help keep fine scratches off during the wash process. This is how and what I use to wash.
Wolfgang shampoo
Do Do Juice wookie fist
Guzzler towels to dry
And a grit guard in my bucket
I typically use Pinnacle swirl remover with an orange pad to get the swirlies.Menzerna Nano polish.Wolfgang sealant, followed by Autoglym HD. I am currently eyeballing some Do Do blue velvet followed by purple haze
I use a PC and a Flex DA.
Thanks guys
Billy

While away many hours on here you will padawan...

Any protection is better than nothing i would personally use 2 bucket wash.
If im using one its because im using ONR.

The DoDo i found gives great finish but from my test of a few products on the bonnet (Hood) the longevity was not there infact it washed off fast.
Im not starting a flame war i loved the finish and lots are very happy with it but not for me.

Ah, a fellow black car victim. They are beautiful, but a pain to keep nice. While every little bit helps, in my experience wax and sealants are not terribly good at preventing swirls and scratches. Yeah, they're better than nothing, but they don't offer a high degree of scratch resistance. The best protection against wash-induced scratches and swirls is being careful during wash - using the 2 bucket method or blasting your mitt with the hose between panels, or both. For real scratch resistance you need one of the new coatings like Opt-Coat or CQuartz. And even those are "scratch resistant" not scratch-proof.
