New here...and scared

Meg's have the the yellow foam and white MF applicator.
Which did you get? For just polishing to enhance the glow, foam applicator will probably be a better bet. MF can be abrasive if pressure is applied. Not mention, debris sticks to MF like magnet.

I actually just attached link above for what I bought lol.

Btw I would just PM you but I think it's good for other people to learn from questions as well.

Just saw the link... you got the foam applicator and you should be good to go.

Safe to use the other one in pack for liquid wax?

Also...I saw in mike phillips video he said only clay horizontal surfaces...does he literally mean only th hood, top of car, and top of trunk?

If so then what do you use on the vertical surfaces just a spray degreaser?

The foam pads that are included in the Meg's waxes are pretty much the same as the yellow Hi tech Foam Applicator. Altho, I did find that the purple one in NXT and the black one? in UW was a bit fluffier.... or it could be my imagination.

You should clay all areas that needs it and suffice to say, if the car has never been clayed, you do all. I believe what Mike might have meant was that the horizontal panels are more proned to contaminants building up and not necessarily mean that it won't on vertical panels. As in the video, do a baggie test to be sure. If a panel passes the baggie test, assuming you have already washed your car, you should be ok to move on to UP and then wax.

Sounds good...I really appreciate all the help and I'm sure ill get more questions as I get into the actual hands on.

I'm pretty sure what I said was that generally speaking it's only the horizontal surfaces that get contaminated and that's why in most situations you only need to clay the horizontal surfaces.

Paul, aka c8n is right though in that you should check the vertical panels.

Keep in mind, while most contaminants fall "down" onto your car and therefor miss landing on the vertical sides, any "sticky" contaminants floating or blowing in the wind can and will land on and stick to the vertical panels.

Here's a video that shows claying vertical panels...

Sorry Mike I'm at work so I see clips of videos at a time and just hope to retain as much of what you said as I can.

Thanks for taking the time to post in my introduction thread.

I'll take a look at those links tonight!

I think that I have read over at MOL, that Mike Stoops said that all of their (Meguiar's) hand foam pads are the same except for color.

Maybe a call to them may answer 'that' question.
