Hi Everyone,

My name is Frank. I'm a long time lurker of these forums and finally decided to join and participate.

A little background on myself:
I spent a few years doing dealership detailing work back in high school. Had to leave once I started college, but continued to maintain my own vehicles and for friends. A few years ago I had the opportunity to work for a local high end detailer. Learned a lot of new processes, but it just didn't work out between us and I'll leave it at that. I couldn't see myself detailing cars for someone else my entire life. (No offense to those of you that do.)

Landed a job working at a local eCommerce company that owns a few really large niche market automotive brands. Worked my way up into management of our eCommerce Web Production team.

It's been about 3 years since I regularly detailed cars or performed paint corrections. I've been doing it here and there, but I really want to get back into it. I really have a passion for getting a vehicle back into the best condition of its life. This craft really helps my patience and attention to detail.

So... I bought a bunch of new supplies. Already have 5 cars lined up for various services (1 step polishing, full corrections, ceramic coating application. I couldn't be more excited to get back into this part time for now. Thankfully I have great friends who have a clean space for me to work in for now.

I'm here to learn about new systems and processes. I have my prep work down to my own little science, but I've got the most experience working with M105 & M205 and think I get pretty excellent results. I'd like to try more systems for polishing. I currently have a PC 7424 XP, but will eventually add more equipment to the arsenal this year.

I know you guys love seeing other people's collections, so here is mine and the break down of products I currently have. I believe a few pad types are missing and I have significantly more microfibers on the way.

I live in Phoenixville which is about 10 minutes from King of Prussia.

Welcome, from Chester County! Lots of us from the Greater Philly area on AGO :)

Great start...Welcome from West of the Burgh...

It's sitting in my cart now. Just can't afford to pull the trigger yet.

Hi Frank and welcome. I noticed you also are starting to build up your collection of soft drinks in addition to your cleaning supplies - lol. On another note - killer lights. What are those?

Haha! I like Mexican Coca Cola. I have a co-worker buy it for me at Costco.

As for the lights, there is a thread about them here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...-led-work-light-much-better-than-halogen.html

To save you a BUNCH of reading old posts, back and forth banter, etc.

Here are the components of it:
Amazon.com: Neewer 6ft/190cm Photography/Video Studio Alluminum Alloy Light Stand: Camera & Photo

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HZUVX8G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01

18W Dimmable PAR38 LED Bulb - 100W Equivalent UL-listed LED PAR38 Light Bulb - Daylight 5000K 1280LM 40 Degree Beam Angle for Stage, Scene, Event, Residential, Commercial, General Lighting: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

In total, I spent about $55 for it shipped.

I did a bunch of research on shop lights, led shop lights, etc and just wasn't impressed with that was out there for the money. I wanted something light, compact and what I think is a bit more durable than those hot halogen lights.

Haha thanks! What made it so great?

A good history of your experience and where you are now. It also confirms you are in EXACTLY the right place to grow personally in this stuff but maybe help some of us out with your experience and perspective as well.

Thanks for providing the links! Wouldn't ya know - all three are Prime shipping eligible.

Thank you. I hope I can contribute even a small percentage of the knowledge I will have gained from this forum.

I wouldn't have bought them if they weren't :)
