Hi my name is Eric, and I am new to the forum. I have a few questions that i know can be answered here. I recently just bought a new 2010 Ford Fusion for my wife (great car!!!). The car has light scratches in the clear which is magnified by the metallic black the car is painted. Well, i have been detailing on and off since i was a teen but never kept up to date with the latest and greatest products and techniques. I'm not new to holding a buffer or high speed rotary but I also do not come with a ton of experience. I have looked through this site and i can say it is amazing! I would like to try new techniques along with newer and better products. I would like to try the following and let me know if i am going the right direction.
1. Wolfgang Total Swirl 3.0 orange pad 2.Wolfgang Finishing Glaze white pad 3.Wolfgang paint sealer grey pad 4. Then spray detailer i have never used these products before but on this site it looks like these are the way to go. I worked for a bodyshop as a paint prep guy and also filled in with nibbing and buffing but my boss did't like me to buff because i took too long lol. Bodyshops are all about turn around and volume so if anyone wants to know why their car has swirls its because we don't want to spend anymore time on cars then we have to , which to me and every person on here will agree with is a disgrace! Well, i guess i will wait for some responses thanks for the time!

Will you be using a rotary or a ROB? But I would say that your choices look good, you may want to start on the white pad with the 3.0 and see what happens before stepping up to the orange, sometimes things surprise you.

yea i think your right bout the white pad being that i don't think i need to be too aggressive, i wil be using a porter cable 7424x that i just got to replace my tired dewalt rotary that i was using plus the dewalt is a heavy duty and i don't need it for my home use.

just ordered the pc 7424xp as u have, and am planning to use the wg 3.0 system. seems like most guys on this also recommend claying as well. do a test spot first with ur pads to determine how to approach the rest of the vehicle.
