I thought one of the attractions was the spray-on application for things like wheels where you don't have to mess around with the spokes, and you can spray it into the barrels.

Maybe it is?
I used the "Platinum" about a year ago and thou it does what it says it will do (surfaces applied to clean better,sheet water,ect...),I thought its durability was around 2-4weeks (on vehicle painted surfaces).I could not justify the cost.
A side note,it was easy to use.
I used "Platinum" at a 10% concentration at the time.

Hmmmm... I've read some less than complementary remarks about the durability.

That's exactly my experience...
A large UK online shop even stopped selling it some months ago.

Lol, I thought the same thing about durability and actually got to meet some of the guys from Germany at sema and discussed that very issue. They said the durability problems are resolved with their newer versions and gave me some samples to test. Haven't done it yet

It's durability is not the best as a stand alone LSP,tis the reason people use it over coatings.

Its funny they choose the name "Permanon". Sounds like its anything but permanent.
