Nick was kind enough to send me a bottle of the new Sio2 enhanced coating to get my thoughts on it.

Had the opportunity to try out the new formula Mckees 37 Paint coating with Sio2 enhancement! Before applying I prepped the surface by polishing and then removing the polishing residue with prep solve. Application was a bit different compared to the old formula. This version doesn't flash off really much at all. Meaning I was able to apply to a whole panel before wiping off. I found wipe off a little more tacky but still easy. I also noticed that after curing the surface isn't super slick. But more of a glass like feel.

One thing to also note is that when finished applying make sure to empty the sprayer or else the formula will cure inside rendering it useless. Confirmed this with Nick too.

Preliminary hydrophobics seem great and I will be following up soon with a maintenance wash on the clients vehicle. He has stated that so far so good.

Awesome Justin. I just ordered a bottle along with a gallon of the new wash.

Thanks for the review Justin, the only thing I've really liked about the new (now old) M37 paint coating formula is how easy it is to use and how slick it felt when you wiped away the highspots.

I know you said it takes much longer to flash, but could you share your opinion on whether or not the high spots are still really easy to buff off

Is it still initially slick (during application)?

Is it still recommended to apply heavy?

I'm thrilled they've improved the formula. Thanks again!

Nice review. I wonder if you wiped it off immediately(like the directions state), if it would have felt less tacky, instead of doing a whole panel before wiping off?

Sounds like the properties are more like Cquartz vs the older version which seemed clearly different. Can't wait to try it out.

It goes on nice but not nearly as slick imo as the original version. But once cured it slickens up.

I applied heavy the first time and found that I needed to tone back a little bit. A little seems to spread a good amount.

Possibly. I did use it on another vehicle and cut down my working area and it didn't seem to change my experience. Might have been due to the temp/humidity outside?

Yeah it definitely seems like a tougher coating. Even left over high spots the next day are much tougher to level. The old version you could wipe high spots away the next day no problem.

Overall I think it's a huge improvement! Just need to pay a little more attention when applying.
