guess ill post my first post here, just a car enthusiast that would like to better detail without having to spend hundreds on paying someone.

i drive a 2013 black granite metallic chevy cruze, thats slightly modded. bought the car new and since then it has been washed maybe 5 times not by be (dealer, body shop) therefore my paint is in quite good shape summer months i handwash/dry in straight motions, very little swirling in the paint. been using some adams polishes products and want to upgrade a little more

last week i purchased a gg6 polisher as my first polisher

also picked up on the weekend locally at ctire megs ultimate compound, polish and liquid wax. they seem to be some decent beginner products to use.

been reading up on other products and would like some more recommendations on other products to order, so far my cart has

carpro iron x

mckees 37 microfiber cleaner

the guzzler triple kit

nanoskin autoscrub system startup kit 6 inch

mckees 37 tire coating


i will need a bunch of pads still, should i get a 3 inch backing plate and pads for smaller areas or no?

i wouldnt mind getting another polishing , wax product incase i want to try something else other then my megs stuff, maybe a all in one instead?

maybe some interior cleaning products?

Welcome to Autogeek, Kyleorsini. I got a 3" backing plate and pads for my GG 6, but in my opinion you can wait on that. How about some ONR? (Optimum No Rinse) You can buy some, dilute it, and use it for a detailer, a rinseless wash, and as a clay lube. Since you're starting from scratch (so to speak) try to obtain products that can serve several purposes. Poor Boys brand has some good and inexpensive products that can help you, and Klasse all-in-one can be used inside and outside. I'm sure you'll get plenty of good advice from the guys here, and good luck to you.
 
Hi Kyle, welcome to AutoGeekOnline from Germany!

You can never have to many pads. I would pick up a Lake Country 5" plate and combine it with the 5.5" Lake Country flat pads. Maybe start off with half a dozen white polishing pads and and All in One product such as McKee's 37 360.

As for the smaller pad option, I would pick up the smaller GG3 3" machine polisher and equip it with 3" flat pads.
 
Welcome! Best advice is not to buy too much stuff when you first start. Buy some basic stuff and give it a go, then see what you need/want later. The 3D line gets some great reviews, and their prices are good. I just picked up some 3D AAT finishing polish. I can't wait to get the time to try it out!:buffing:
