Welcome to Autogeek. Another option is Mequiar's 5" backing plate and 5" DA Foam Discs.

Are the Meguiars 5" inch backing plates and discs available at any particular stores?

Welcome to AG. Lots of us here in SE MI. Warren.

Apparently so!!!! I used to live in warren back in the day, first Schoenherr and Common Rd. area then 12 and Schoenherr area, Flanders to be exact!

LOL, nope. The Stars and Stripes festival used to be fun, but they moved it to freedom hill.

There used to be a weekly car show, but I'm not sure what day it is.

I used to hang out at Emerald ballroom, The Hayloft " I called it the Hoeloft", and Voodoo Lounge , back in the day that is lol

Was that the on Ryan, just south of 22? I used to go for the open jam nights back in 1998/99. Lots of fights there.

I used to rehears at The Hive Studios at 9 and Hoover in one band, and 10 and Hoover for another a few years back. Incidentally, my new project takes me to Gross Pointe Woods I believe. Vernier and Jefferson if I'm not mistaken.

Welcome to AutoGeekOnline!

Congrats on the new machine to get your feet wet. Their pads are not the greatest. When you can pick up some quality pads/plate from Lake Country.

What are you working on?

The first car a I have done is our Mazda Tribute, turned out well. It being my first time and all.

Been a while since I've been to any of them. I think they're all closed or under a new name. We called it the whoreloft back then, lol. Orleans was always my place, when I use to go out.

There was a Hayloft in MT. Clemens and we called it the same as you I wasn't sure if the TOU allowed such terminology lol. Vernier and Jefferson should be Grosse Pointe Shores.

We used to call the Hayloft by the same nickname lol

Ah, It had been known as Hayloft East I believe.

Ok, that sounds more like it.

OK so now I need some buffing pad advice. Looks like Lake Country is the ticket, but I don't know which pads I should buy. If I have a 5 inch backing plate that means I would need 5.5 inch pads? Also I would like to buy the 6 pack to take advantage of the value.

First I knew that. Did we know each other before?

I just noticed your name in the tag line in your posts, I actually think we have inadvertently met before. I believe you have a business on Van Dyke

Yes, you would need 5.5" pads.

Many people starting out are often directed toward the Orange, White, and black flats, or ccs lines, and for good reason. They work very well, and are durable. They can take a beating.

Buff and Shine is another option. Same colors too - Orange, White, and Black. B&S are also really nice.
