Hello all. I am new to this forum and new to detailing in general. When I bought my first car I used to wax it on a regular basis but never really new what I was doing. After visiting this site and forum I realize I have alot to learn. I recently bought a 2013 silver Honda Accord Touring edition. My previous car was 2008 burgandy Accord that I negelected for the most part. While I washed it regularly I never took the time to detail it myself Due to the darker colored paint the vehicle showed the wear and tear and over time the smoothness of the paint was gone and what was left was rough and not very attractive. While I still got decent value at trade in it made me realize that I should never neglect another car like that again.
Since purchasing my new car I have done a detail using BlackFire Polish and Sela and the Wet Diamond. The results were fantastic. I also have the Crystal seal but was unable to do it. Unfortunately I do all my detailing outside as I do not have a garage and pollin began accumulating on the car almost immediately. My next project is the rims. I had the delaer put the 18in Sport model rims on the car, I was not pleased with the stock 17 alloy rims, and they look amazing. I have noticed minor scratching and swirling as the rims are clear coated. I had been using the DP wheel glaze after washing and cleaning using the Pinnacle Clear Coat Safe rim cleaner but the results were not outstanding. After doing some research on here I saw that you should polish your rims before applying this glaze so I will do that this weekend. How often should I detail my car and are there any steps I'm missing?
I look forward to chatting with all of you and excited to learn more about the detailing process. Hope all is well.
