Greetings ,
My name is Eric and a new member on this site. I have been ordering detailing products from Auto Geek for a few years now and really like there selection.

I have recently started a side detailing business and did my first car for a customer the other day. I'm new to detailing professional and got started after being a car enthusiast of my 2011 mustang. It was a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am and the paint was rough. I mean rough.

I used my awesome Porter Cable DA 7424 XP , yellow Lake County cutting pad and Meguiar's Ultimate compound. Only after I hand washed and clay bar of course. Here is the car prior to my detail and after.
 
Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the kind words. I must admit I was really nervous because I wanted the customer to really like the detail. I really take pride in me paying attention to details however I'm newer at detailing and this cars paint was a train wreck. Lol.

Here is my car that got me hooked on detailing. Its a 2011 mustang with 45k miles on it. I put a glaze on her, then M Seal and then wet butter carnauba wax from chemical guys brand.

Any all detailing tips and secrets , please feel free to share. Lol. I'm here to learn. 😎
 
Welcome! Nice whip but What order did you go? Did you seal over a glaze? Just checking because you should not seal over a glaze. It will only last as long as the glaze. Well from what I've learned you shouldn't.

yes sir. I put the glaze on first. Followed by the M Seal sealant and then butter wet carnauba wax. 😎
 
What glaze did you use? I personally seal, wax, then glaze. The sealant should be bonded to the paint to optimize the life of the sealant. I did the same thing before and wondered why the sealants applied would only last a month at the most. Good luck and welcome. I learned so much from being here and I'm sure you will do the same.

That's kind of the normal progression...

Start out detailing your car own car... people start asking you things like,

Did you get a new paint job?

or

When can you detail my car?


You start getting enough of the second question and it tends to lead into starting a side business detailing cars.
