you will not have any bonding issues....101 and 105 will bond together...they are not a wax or contain wax....most any straight siloxane sealant will bond over another no matter what brand.....as long as there is no caranuba content in the sealant..

the way Sparkie wants to do it is fine......

you can do 101...105 (24 hours after 101) to prevent a chance of smearing....105 (24 hours after 1st 105 )..then AW (24 hours after 105) max wax next day...it is important to let sealnats cure in proper time...or you could have streaking or smearing from uncured polymers....

I have done over 20 cars with 105 since June..and not one has any bonding issues..most with same process as above.....and they look as good as day 1...no Max Wax..but some with collinite 915....

My truck has menzerna...101..105x3.. AW between coats and looks like it was done yesterday..done in July

I really enjoyed the write up you did and all the support that everyone
here provides. I'm new here, well I've been reading lots and making a
"detailing book". Basically I capture what others say and recommend and
I compile it in a word document and print it and put it in a binder.

I really enjoyed how you went step by step, that was really helpful. There
are lots of products out there and it is overwhelming if you don't know
where to begin. For example, the clay part. At first I thought it was
tedious and ignored it but as I read more and more about it I realized how
important it is. I personally enjoy how some of you recommend certain
products and demonstrate the results and not to mention do a wonderful
job at doing the write up. That is excellent to a person with no previous
experience such as my self (I'm sure I'm not the only one).

I too just purchased a brand new Lexus as well, it's an SUV
2006 GX 470 and I have a big list of things I will need.
I have never polished a car with a
machine, I've only polished by hand and I've never seen
results like what you guys post. So I'm really looking forward on
ordering the products and putting them to good use.

So even though it is annoying to have someone question everything
I appreciate all the feed back that all of you provide and please keep it up.
As soon as I order all the products I need I'll be posting some results for
all to see.

Hey, I clayed my vette at only 2 months old. It really helped what was already a good surface, so I am not sure I would skip that. Mine is red too. Just fyi...

The last of my ordered supplies arrived today so I will be ready for this weekend.
I also got a PC and a set of Edge pads.
Thanks to all the great info given here I have planned the following steps:
1) wash (Mothers car shampoo)
2) clay (Pinnacle clay and lube)
3) prep (Klasse AIO)
4) sealant (WDGP)
5) final shine (Pinnacle Souveran paste wax or Sign Series II)

Since my car is new and has no swirls or scratches I skipped prelim polishing.
Please add, subtract, or modify my thinking here.

Sounds like a pretty good plan. However, I would wash with a good car wash soap and skip the Dawn. First, Dawn dries out rubber plastic. Second, it does not provide the lubricity that a good car wash soap does. So, you could be scratching your car as you with with Dawn. Finally, it's very debatable whether or not there is any reall advantage to using Dawn. People have had mixed results using it to strip wax and between the clay and AIO you already plan to use all old wax will be removed.
 
No dawn. My neighbor always uses Dawn but he doesn't pamper his cars.
I have some Mothers car shampo on hand, is that ok?
 
Hey, try the Pinnacle Souveran paste wax. You have the perfect car for it.

Yes, i will over the weekend....i LOVE all reds...our van is a burgundy (my choice, oF course) so we both have good tste. your lexus rocks!
SOUVERAN is $80... supposed to be knockout for red and black.

I still want to come up with a good personalized plate, but everything good is taken!!! Off topic, I know....
 
Also if you dont like the price point of Souveran get the Signature Series II!!!

Pinnacle Signature Series II has an AMAZING bright color pop effect, its like woah that red is right there! I dont know how to explain it exactly, but I strongly suggest you look into some.

Not dissing Souveran at all for deep red and black finishes, but I have to hand thebright color crown to its little brother on this one. It will really bring out the bright flake in your Lex, yet will also give you wetness and deph. A heavily underused wax !

ryan, think i made a mistake getting souveran when my car is fire engine red? now i am wondering. it was a quality concern that made me spend that in the first place.??? lauren
 
Souveran was designed for reds, yellows, and blacks. It adds depth. The Sig Series II was designed with addtl polymer for reflection for cars in metallic and lighter colors that dont naturally reflect as well. Lauren you picked correct, and quality well you clearly picked right.
