Hi, name's Erik. Worked as detailer for local dealership for a little less than a year. I will never do that job again, (that job being cleaning used car that we got in on trade.) some of the stories I have will make you want to wash your hands after reading it. Just made a big purchase on AG recently and will post pictures up. Currently a student for hire. New to this forum, not forums. I like using the search bar. Daily is a 2007 mazda3 galaxy grey mica. gray in sun and in low light is blurple.

I like that, "student for hire".

When I was in high school & college I used to spend my weekends driving out to wealthy neighborhoods soliciting, door to door, offering to clean their cars for then in their driveway. Sometimes I'd clear $500 for two days work but I gave it up when it became hazardous to my health when a particularly jealous husband came home unexpectedly.

I maintain that I was just working on my tan and she just wanted to make sure I did a good job, lol.

I worked at a dealer along time ago and lasted 3 days and walked out.

Been watching Craigslist for my area for several weeks and the same dealership has been posting for a car wash/detailer once a week. Guess they keep getting someone thatll last a day or two then quit.

Welcome! I would probably be too slow too work for a dealership.

This is a really great site for info. Very supportive. A lot better than the usual car forums I Frequent. One guy the hired to replace me when I announced my resigning lasted a day and a half. Had a seizure. Dented a car on the way down with his cranium. Anyone who thinks working detail at a dealership is like what we all do, needs to think again. It has led me to stereotype ALL minivans.
