Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Just purchased a PC should be here soon. I buy and sell a few cars, on the side, and needed something to help with the clean up. My son was the one that really wanted the PC, I thought his hand waxing looked fine.

I just have the basic kit ordered and have been reviewing vidoes and reading posts to see what products to buy. This Florida sun is tough, not to mention the love bugs.

Hey welcome Pawpaw. You're lucky you live in FLorida, you get your products fast :D. So which kit did you buy?

Welcome to the forum, lots to read here and lots to learn. Sounds like you got your self a nice little business to keep you detailing for a long time. Post pictures and results when you recieve and use your new PC. We all love pictures here :D

Oh and don't be shy to ask any questions, no such thing as a dumb question around here.

Welcome to the board! I started out with the same kit, and have been adding and trying products ever since. All products AG carries is top-notched, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.

Welcome! It nice to get your paws on some AG stuff. The love bugs have really been bad here the last week. It's the worst I have ever seen them.

Gary, what product do you suggest for bugs? I try to miss em but there are too many.:)

I just purchased Klasse Menzerna Kit for older cars, picked up some XMT360 and DP Cleanse All Exterior Cleaner. With all the different products too confusing.

Lately I have just been washing the love bugs off everytime I or my wife get home with some Poorboy's Supper Slick & Suds. If you get them off right away they're not to bad. My wife and I both work out of our house so we have not had to drive to far. Diamondite makes some products specific for Love Bugs. I have heard some people say they spay pam on the the front of their car so the love bugs don't stick but I have never tried it.

Klasse All In One and XMT 360 are some great stuff. I just received a order with some Menzerna yesterday so I have not had a chance to try it yet. All the different products can be confusing. If you have questions about products or anything just ask. There are a lot of great detailers on AG who are glad to help out.

Received my PC today, only got the basic kit with backing plate, orange and white pads. Have ordered some product but couldn't wait to try. So, I had some Meguiars Quick Wax spray and after washing my 91 Honda I used white pad and this is the results. Just had to use it and felt like this would be a good way to get use to feel.

I have a couple questions... after you use a pad what do you do with it, soak it in something, store it til next time. Also, as you can see from photo I have a couple areas that the clear coat is messed up. What can be done with this?

Remember a waxed car gets better mpg

there is nothing else you can do on that peeling CC, well short of getting it repainted that is.

Lately I have been using DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator to clean my pads. There are a number of products out there that work good. Just mix a little up in a bucket before you start. When finished just put the pad face down in the pucket and wash it out after a few minutes. If it's still dirty I'll soak it a few more minutes and use an old tooth brush on it. I then let them dry out for at least a day and stick them in large zip lock bags. If you do put them in bags make sure there are completely dry before you do or you will end up with mildew on your pads.

Ok Gary, your suggestion worked perfectly. How did I do?:)

:iagree:

It look pretty good! I love a clean engine. I also think you would have to get the spot were the clear coat is peeling repainted.

So how do you buy & sell cars? Do you get a fixer upper and fix them or buy them from a auction? Just curious..

Buy from auction, clean up, fix up if needed and then put up for sale. Hopefully find quick buyer at just above wholesale price. If no quick buyer then drive for awhile and then sell for what I have in it and move to next one. This is not a full time deal, just gives me something different to do. Have found that a detailed vehicle will sell for more money everytime.
