Hey Everyone,
I love the Autogeek site and think all of your cars and trucks are beautiful. I need to solicit some advice from the experts out here. I am the proud owner of a 2007 FJ Crusier, the Black Diamond colored model and know nothing about maintaining a black vehicle. Any words of wisdom? Thanks and happy trails to you all. Tom:eek:

Haha. Be prepared to work hard to keep it looking nice.

Thats my advice.

Black D,

Welcome to the forum. I new a well, and have a new SAV. she a beaut. I have the same concerns too. I have the Toledo Blue 06' BMW 4.4i with Beige Inter.. my biggest concern is that I oversea in Bahrain and the temp's here are mostly off the board. btwn 104 in the shade. and 118 in direct sun light. and with sand and dust blowing everywehre. it hard keeping the X5 clean for 12HRS...My life has change since the new SAV is a part of the family. like take care of a baby. so I am look for the help you are search for as well.

Black is difficult to maintain if you don't constantly do upkeep on your vehicle. It is going to look dirty, and there is no way around it. Hope you like to wash/clean.:D Cool purchases for both of you. Congrats and welcome to the boards.

Thanks for words of wisdom folks. Hey Wood56 where the heck is Bahrain anyway?

Hey let me know what you think of the FJ. I keep seeing a couple around here including one that looked like it came with some kind of offroad package (had BBS wheels and meatier tires). I like that they come 6 speed manual form as well. I'm trying to talk my sister into it (so I can have a little play toy around lol:D) but she still wants that new 335 turbo comming out.

FJ Cruiser

Hey Surfer man, Whats happening in Boca I used to live on nw 72nd st for eight years anyway I have only had it one full day so far but I love it. It drives like a caddy and handles like a Porsche. The 239 horses gets up and goes and with the six on the floor, nice.... It would be a nice toy to cruise up A1A or down to South Beach along A1A. I'll try to get a pic up soon. I have the stock tires which I think are 31" they look nice but I want the 33's. This is my first real 4x so I am still learning on whats best for my new love. I guess thats why were here. Peace Blackdiamond FJ Cruiser in Medford,Ma.

No sh!t? Off 2nd ave near Boca Lake Estates and Hidden Valley? We live across the beach off A1A. Yeh I really like the FJ, ex-gf's brother has a bad ass lifted 96' Land Cruiser and picked up an older FJ I think to redo. Check his site LandCrusher.com . We have an 05' LX470 with just a dual exhaust, but trying get momma dukes to lift it :D Not going to happen lol, still rips in stock form. I usually take it to meet clients instead of my truck, it's funny seeing their reaction when we drive off and they hear the iforce V8 growling in a Lex.

I'm almost thinking of picking up the new FJ if my sister doesn't get one to have around, I really like it:cheers:. Plus we know one of the guys at King Toyota so.....

Cool

Hey man,
The FJ now has 100 miles on it and I just bought a duster for the pollen, Am i gone or what. :iagree: We lived at 408 nw 72nd in Hidden Lake. I miss that place. I dont want to kill the topic. Is Bostons still up in DelRey on the beach? Do you experience bad bouts with tree pollen in S. Florida? I can't memba.
Having some rock rails installed this week then its off the Maine or New Hampshire. To find an old dry river or something :righton: . I am dying to put this beast to the test. Slowly, and with guidance as this is my first, "like a virgin, hey." The FJ has a nice sound. Do you think I should put "duallys" on it. Took it slowly down Newbury St tonight all glossy and gangstered out. The stereo really kicks too man. I have never owned a vehicle with a louder factory system. The roof looks chopped and the interior is very affordable, roomy. Seats have "Stainguard" too. Well, Hang ten my surfer friend.:awesome:

Amen. Welcome to the boards. The Ladies (especially) and gents are outstanding and some of the finest detailers I've ever met.

Yup Boston's is still there across the beach. Atlantic Ave is pretty f'n nutz now. I'm usually over at Neighborhoods Sports Bar and Grille on Federal right near where you lived. Pollen isn't bad here basically none, at least near the beach. Though about a week or two ago we had a ton of rain and there was an insane amount of those floaty white fuzzy looking seed things in the air, can't remember the last time it was like that. Fine now.

That's what I like about the truck, nice and comfortable but simple. Plus it has a manual trans. If you going to dual it out, check CGSmotorsports.com , hands down the best exhaust around. I've run a bunch from Flows to Magnaflow to Borla etc, only thing that touches our V8's now is CGS mufflers lol. Just a very deep and agrressive sound w/o being obnoxious. I'm having a custom system put on one of my trucks tomorrow, even the Lex has a custom CGS dual exhaust.

Do the FJ's come w/ an offroad package? B/C one I saw had some meaty tires on BBS wheels that looked similar to the BBS wheels that were optional on Seqouia's/Tundras and I think newer 4Runners?

Bahrain is an Island, roughly 4 times the size of Washington DC, that lies about 15 miles offshore from Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf. Lived and worked over there in the Middle East for many years and know the area well.

Words of wisdom

Thanks again for all of the feedback everyone. Well now I have gone from not washing my Tacoma, my last truck, to washing this FJ twice now. Not too bad. Having the white top helps. Thanks Mike T :) I went out and spent a good hundred dollars at PEPBOYS over the w/e. Surfer, you asked if the FJ came in an off-road version, I'm not terribly sure but have also heard something about a TRD version, who knows  . I'll check out those CGS pipes. We get that white snow flake looking pollen frequently along with this greenish mist. The stuff gets everywhere. But my solution is a quick cold water rinse and cruise dry.
Bahrain sounds like a beautiful place, BritOn2wheels how's the fourwheelin :awesome: . Abrcrombe, Thanks and you're right even the slightest amount of dirt shows up AND looks twice as big. Arrrrghhh. I'll be allright. HANG TOUGH :righton:
