My name is Josh and I'm from the Houston, Tx area. I've been a car/detailing fanatic for over a decade. I joined this site to learn about new products as well as lear new things about the industry. I'm curious to see what products y'all like and would recommend.

so many good ones, everyone has their own personal preference.. griot's garage, carpro, megs, duragloss, buff & shine, lake country, flex, to name a few. if you're looking to get into machine polishing both griot's garage and flex would be excellent choices...

I've used most of the above including Adams and chemical guys when I first started. Thanks for the input and warm welcome guys

Welcome. Products depend on you. What your set-up is and what you want to focus on. I like ONR a lot. I use a flex, rupes mini, and cyclo polisher. I also have the flex mini rotory and a full size dewalt rotory, those don't see a lot of action. I like Megs APC and degresers. A vx5000 steamer is a great investment as a Metro-Vac is a huge upgrade over the usual Ridged shop vac, vut at double the cost. Lots of decisions to make when starting out.

Yea I was looking at the vx5000 and I bought a metro vac as well. The thing I'm having difficulty with is pricing. I've scouted out the competition prices and I can easily be competitive but don't know how much to charge for a full 3 step compound, polish, wax, and if they want it sealant.

I honestly would not even offer that level of correction starting out. Get some AIO's under your belt, that's the package most customers are looking for. I will rarely run into a individual that 1. will spend the money required for multi step correction and 2. this is important, have the ability to maintain such a correction. If they have a black daily driver, you need to be able to educate them on proper washing as well as expectations.
