@John U, would you say that the Finisher will also correct Mazda paint, not just as quick as the C Beast?
I see that the cordless Finisher is back I stock.
I just want a smooth, easy to handle machine and a bit worried about the feel of the CBeast.
Now if I go to Corded, Rupes 15 over the Corded Finisher?

The Cordless Finisher is a smoother experience then the 3401. Not that the 3401 is bad, you know you are making progress. Both are easily run one handed.... just use a firmer grip on the 3401.
The new family of “Beasts” are both mellower then their daddy.

Cordedless is the way to go for us ”driveway warriors”.
 
I have owned and used the 3401, CBEAST, and cordless finisher.

The finisher slows down after 5-10 minutes which is annoying. I do not recommend anyone buy the cordless finisher.

With the new corded XCE out I wouldn't bother with the 3401.

Cordless is nice but the warranty on the batteries is only 1 year. I had one fail and luckily they covered it but if they didn't a new battery is over $100. Something to think about.

I also expect now that Flex launched their 24V tools in the USA that it is only a matter of time before they release new cordless polishers based on that platform.

If buying today and you want forced rotation I suggest the corded XCE. If you want a long throw I'd suggest Rupes LHR21 Mark III or equivalent.

Everyone likes something a little different so only you can decide what works best for you.

Thank you for your input on the battery.
Maybe , and hopefully Flex moves to the 24v batteries.
I was just focusing on the convenience of having no cords, plus the idea of brushless that maybe the cordless machines will be better in the long run.
Also, there is a chance I might move to Australia so maybe cordless machines will be easier to use down there than the corded ones?
You mentioned Rupes 21 or equivalent? You mean Griots G21?
 
Yes, I do find I need to switch out batteries at half charge (20 minutes for mine) to maintain the speed at #6, the only setting I use.

I might add, most of my buffing on family/friend’s vehicles would be called “production buffing” taking 40 minutes.

Staying with the thought of Cordless, do you think that if/when I move, it will be easier for me to bring my machine since I only have to get a different voltage charger, correct?
As opposed to bring a corded then getting it converted to overseas voltage?
