New Porsche…Did I mess up already :D..used BFCS Then Pinnacle Paint coating.??

I just took delivery of a 2014 boxster in Mahogany metallic dark brown…I had some left over BFCS that I used on our 42 sailboat and I use it on a 86 Ferrari 328…It worked good.

So…I read about the new Coatings and while I was waiting for my order to come…I put the BFCS on the Porsche because I felt like it was naked not having anything on it.

When the PinnacleBL Diamond paint coating came in, I also used the pinnacle polish…by hand….but I didn't spend to much time polishing each section….I mean the paint is perfect and I just did a light polishing by hand…then Applied the Pinnacle Paint coating as directed…It went on like the Videos and looks Great

Question is:….Did the Light Polishing Take off the BFCS ?? How do I know if the Pinnacle BL Coating stuck?? I used Meg Ultimate quick detailer on the Car before I put the BFCS and also use it now every day to dust it off some. …Beads water great, but that may be from the Meg Quick detailer also. :D…..

Should I just Drive it and wash it and not worry about it and see what it does over the next few months….OR….Start over with a Groits DA and Pinnacle Polish and re coat with PBLDPCoating?…….

Welcome to AG.

If you used the surface cleansing polish then yes, you removed the crystal seal. You should be good as far as bonding of the coating. Just drive it and don't worry about it.

Car looks great, check out Mike's tutorials on working with pictures in message forums, you can embed them right in your post rather than attaching them.

The Paint Cleansing Polish will have removed the Blackfire Crystal Seal.

Know way to know the other answer but "probably" at least to some degree. I've used this new coating a lot but I also applying very methodically always according to directions.

I think you should drop the boxter off to me and I'll drive it for a while and let you know if the PBL had bonded! Lol! As others have said, you did things the right way and shouldn't worry. Just drive it and enjoy! :-)

New problem though. A cat got on the car last night and since the hood is so slick..cat peeled out with his back paws, to keep from sliding off...put about 5 scratch areas on the hood. The worse one, I can barely feel with my fingernail, the I can't feel, but can definately see it in reflected light

What's a good polish/compound to start with?? I have a groits DA and a Flex rotary. Some orange and red foam pads. I've used the rotary to buff out our 42' sailboat. But with clear coat, will the DA be enough or should I start with rotary with a light touch.
 
Definitely start with a DA! A flex will easily be able to correct anything you can throw at it! I would use Menzerna FG400 and then polish up with Menz 4000. From there don't forget to apply sealant to the areas that you corrected.

If you don't have FG400, Meg's M105 and M205 will also fix you up.

However., You should always start with the least aggressive compound or polish and step up only if needed. Which products do you have in your arsenal?
 
I have Groits machine polish 3 and some auto Magic #88 polish. (see pic) that I used on gelcoat…..I'm not against ordering the Right stuff is Menz is the best….I also have the Groits small 3 in DA, which I think might work, unless I should use the bigger one…..What kind of pads should I order?? I have some Yellow LC foam and some Orange…but they are 5 in. or 6 in.

Personally, I LOVE Menzerna products! I haven't yet been presented with a recon that their product line cannot handle. If you decide to give them a try and don't mind spending a few bucks, My recommendation would be to purchase FG400, PF2500, and SF4000. With only those three, you will be easily be able to maintain a beautiful finish on your new car! If the scratches are close together, I'd recommend using the larger machine and 5" LC Hybrid pads. Orange, white, and black pads should be all that you would need. Just be sure the backing plate on your polisher will not protrude from the edges of your foam pads! You don't want to run the risk of bumping the backing plate against your paint!
