If you do not need the longer cord and use an extension cord. No Need for the HD model. I bought it and frankly didn't need the longer cord and find it a pain to wrap and store. JoeD

Amen--Let me know by PM if you decide to open it up and shorten the cord--let me know how it goes. Only issue looked like the contacts--being able to find some that would fit on the tabs. You'll see what I mean when you open it up.
