New Product: CarPro Fog Fight!

Biggest thing I wonder about is durability -- the video warns not to touch the glass after application so it makes me curious if the slightest touch rubs/wears it off....

I was wondering the same thing and additionally, does it dry crystal clear? I'm sort of anal with glass clarity and a clean windshield inside and out is essential....

Hi Guys

Fog Fight will last as long as its not touched.
if it touched its affect the coat..
Fog Fight is SUPER HYDROPHILIC!! not phobic.. hydrophobic surface is what makes the haze and fog to appear aka oily surface film on the glass..
fog fight makes the glass water condensation "spread" over ... i hope you understand what i mean...

Sorry Avi, but I guess I don't.... the haze/fog is water condensation (microscopic beads of water) that "spread" over the surface of the glass, right? So how does something that by definition would attract more water to the coated surface keep it from fogging? Wouldn't that change in surface tension just cause larger, more easily visible beading of water occur instead?

For that matter, if what you're inferring is that the oily haze formed through the off-gassing of plasticizers/etc. is what contributes to fogging, is the idea that Fog Fight resists that hazing or prevents it from coating the glass over top of the applied product?

you answered your own question..
fog is tiny condensation beads of water on the glass.. usaly because the surface layer is hydrophobic, due to oils, gazes, your moister breathes.. steams from the engine room etc..'
what is hydrophilic?? surface "love" water.. means the tiny beads of condensation are merged all together , giving 1 layer surface. this way the optic vision dont break ..
sorry , but i dont have the high level English to explain it to you.. i hope you understand now

I totally overlooked this in the sale of the day. Had I seen it I would have grabbed two kits when the free shipping no min promo was going on.

Just ordered some of this yesterday to try it. I'll let you all know how it works! :props:

Hi Guys
happy new year !
about the FF , i repeat again, no need too much spray on the surface
i can say 1 squirt mist per 30cm2 . once its sprayed, wipe it on using the suede+applicator . after that , wipe off GENTLY!!!, dont use too much pressure otherwise you removing the coat.! thats why you will see again fog
use thicker mf if its more easy for you.
if the glass is dirty , better to clean the glass before !

Avi really knows what he's talking about.

Charlie, glass fogging/ condensation is made worse by a product that causes water to bead.

A hydrophilic coating loves the water and so causes it to stick together in a flat layer over the glass, so instead of beading up in microscopic beads and causing a fog (thousands of minuscule beads obscureing view), it sits as a thin coat of water evenly over the glass allowing you to see straight through it.

Think of how a car wax that causes super fine beads of water often looks slightly less shiny (from a slight distance) when it's completely covered in super fine beads. Then, think of how a car with no wax in which the water sticks to the paint and just sits flat is much clearer to look through at the paint from a slight distance (say 20ft).

I received mine yesterday and applied it to my bathroom mirror. It worked absolutely great!

I'm wondering about application in cold weather. I don't have a garage and the temps have been around 30. I'm hoping for a 40 degree day, but the 10 day forecast says snow every day.

you can try to turn on the heating in the car , to warm it up a little, and then to coat while the car "feels" better,
but dont operate the ventilation while applying.

I can give that a try. Maybe tomorrow. I'll prob end up making a 40mile trek one way so the car should be nice and toasty when I stop.
