New Product! SONAX Full Effect Wheel Cleaner

I finally got a chance to try this product this morning on two cars and impressed with cleaning but found somethings I'd like to mention for others using the product :

Smell --- this smell lingers and lingers, as offered it smells like a perm or hair product !

Cleaning --- its not quite as cool on wheels that are kept up, as the color change is minimal, but quite apparent on barrels and calipers even with ceramic based pads. It does need some agitation to remove all dirt , thanks as always to trusty Daytona Brush. It washes clean with no residue and really looks clean on painted wheels. I used on cool unwet wheels with no issue.

I am still a bit hesitant to try it on my uncoated Iforged wheels on Vette. The smell screams acid and I dont relish any etching or damage "if" it occured. But it is clearly a great offering for painted and clearcoated wheels and fits nicely between Griots and P21S.

Thanks Scott, would you say it cleans better then the P21S and or the Griots?

the inside of my 98 Silverado rims have never been cleaned. i think this would be a good write up/test for my new Pinnacle Wheel Gel, ARO (probably at full strength), and Sonax, whenever i buy it.

I would say it cleaned equally as well as end result looked nice after light agitation (just like the others need for best results too). I really need to test on dirty rims however to see just how well it cleans as a spray/rinse only product.

I'd be very interested in seeing this as I haven't found a wheel cleaner that I've fallen in love with yet.

According to the Sonax MSDS of this product, the pH is 7.0-7.5 which is exactly like water.

But what's interesting is that the back of the Sonax bottle says "do not allow the cleaner to dry on the wheel" whereas the P21S Gel bottle says "it is fine if the cleaner dries up on the wheel."

Either way, they are both very safe products.

Wow this is what I was looking for something that we can leave on the wheel longer than the usual 30 seconds that other manufacturers recommends.

But 5 MINUTES isn't it too long ?

Aware me please.:props:

Oh and BTW:

i got all excited that a new and improved version of this came out..... how's that for an April Fools joke...

Anyone ? About the 5 minutes on the wheel ?

I have left it on the wheel for longer than that. Just make sure it is a cold wheel and that you do not allow it to dry.

The reason for the long time was that I was doing a really dirty truck. I walked around it spraying all four wheels then started to use a brush. By the time I got to the last wheel about 10 minutes had gone by. I had to spray that last wheel with some more SONAX but even though most of the first application had nearly dried it came out looking just like the others. Perfectly clean!

It was clear coated wheel ? I'm afraid to strip it.

It was clear coated. If the unbelievable amount of brake crud that had been baked onto the clear hadn't hurt it, nothing would.
And the SONAX didn't either.

Probably the best wheel cleaner I have used - I love the clinging power it has.
