New Rupes LHR75E Mini in action at SEMA

That's different. He's a RockStar. It's like when guys in rock bands wear all kinds of make up and scarves. Think Aerosmith. They can pull it off.

Me on my garage. I would feel like a DB.

I needed a good laugh today, thanks!

When doing it Mon-Fri, 9-5.

An apron comes in real handy, especially when it is for years at a time.

Look at my cousins apron. It's his full time job.

I actually want another apron. The one I had was the body shops apron.

I want a all black plain one. Anybody know where I cam get one?

lol i had a feeling these new machines are going to be overpriced xD

The machine isn't overpriced. It's part of a kit so you're paying fr the package as a whole. I can't see the machine retailing for more than 250 by itself

lets just hope the 2 smaller machines don't break the 200$ price tag for being smaller

I see that. But according to the site that has them for pre-order, they are only selling them as a kit. Meaning, we all know the apron and bag cost a combined $6.23 to make. Add another $2 to have Rupes printed on it. They are high profit items. Same with liquid polishes. So in reality, them making it only available as a kit (this is all hinged on IF that info is correct) is kind of of forcing you to "take the good with the bad". I'm not sure why you would need an apron with a 3" RO DA type polisher. Or a gym bag that costs $100 (more than the other 3" polishers retail price). Other than the fact it's a way of maximizing profits. Which is fine, just count me out on that one.

It's like if you really wanted to buy my car for 10k and it's worth exactly 10k. But, I won't sell it unless you buy my collection of unicorn stickers for 5k as well. I can only sell them as a pair.

My guess is Rupes will sell the kit only for a while to maximize profits to sell it to the "gotta have it now" guys. Then suddenly, when it's been around a bit, it will be available as polisher only. Just my guess.

Thought I was the only one with a unicorn sticker collection.

I agree but I mean it's smart on their end bc they know ppl probably forgo their pads and polishes and just buy the machine. So they release these two new machines with tons of ppl drooling at the mouth for them and figure why not get these suckers to buy a kit.

But then again there's tons of overpriced items on the autogeek store that we all fork over the money for and never look back. Guess it all boils down to how much you want it and if you care about the money or not.

Part of me wants it bc I'm interested in their pads and polishes and I have the larger bag and it's actually nice, albeit over priced, and it would be cool to have a bag for the smaller polisher. I just wish it was the mf pads and not the foam.

The 75E is listed for pre-order at Cooperider's website. The only offering at this moment is a Deluxe Edition kit with two polishes and 4 pads. Obviously I can't link to it, but I am mentioning it because it has a price listed. $450.
Four hundred fifty.

The duetto 12 in a full kit is $499 there.
I imagine AG will do better than this on prices and options other than kits.

Woot woot!

Boy did Todd get the steal there huh?!!!? ;)
(Were I the competition I'd have my site updated before sunrise!) :work:

Sure, AG may be a bit less, but I wouldn't expect any huge differences. What with manufacturer setting MAP pricing all over the place these days. Thanks to this good old thing we call the 'internet', manufacturers have cracked the whip for a good 10+ years now.

Way back when I used to sell home theater electronics in the 90's, not so much on my site but through my designs, and by extension through the photos of work on my site, (and links to products) you could pretty much set your own pricing. Seriously, as long as they were getting paid they didn't police it so much. Whether you were buying direct from them or paying another markup and going through a distribution channel they didn't so much mind if you went broke selling.

But then came eBay and back door dealers (you know, the ones that'd in order to keep their minimum purchasing volume in effect they'd sell to their brother in law and he'd put stuff on eBay), and along came cheap Chinese knock off products as well. That is when the distribution channels became stronger and it got harder to be 'manufacturer direct'. Not so much harder, but it meant you had to buy a TON more product, and abide by MAP pricing or they'd see ya' in court.

Funny story; (Oh God... here goes Tony again with one of his stories, time to tune out.) Had a client I'd been doing Home Theater work for over the course of several years. He was always wanting something new, and upgrading one after another. So he finds these new loudspeakers he wants in a magazine and decides to call the manufacturer to see if HE could be an 'authorized dealer'. Sure enough, with a minimum purchase for a "demo setup" he could. So he orders $20K wholesale worth of product to put in his theater. That's 2 mains (3 pieces each with a bottom rack mounted powered sub, middle full range and a top rack mounted powered sub), a center (same piece as the middle of the two front mains), 2 sides, 2 rears and another sub at the rear. Now he already had custom built subs that I had made for him, 73" tall, with four 12" drivers in each behind the curtains at the front of the room. Picked honey maple as his choice of veneers and left it at that.

A few months had passed and we had been working on rewiring his entire home. We put networking in, had surround in 4 rooms, 2-channel in 8 rooms, HDD music server, etc. About then his wife said, "Dude, you're moving out, I don't love up any more!" He calls me and asks if I will buy the speakers he had in his theater. I told him; "NO WAY, you went off the reservation when you bought them, I didn't make a dime on them, they are all yours." Then he asked if I'd sell them for him, which I agreed to, for a preset profit. I took photos and put them on a high end site I frequent where you can buy both new and used audio gear. About two weeks passed and he calls frantically panting on the other end telling me I need to get the speakers off the site. I reminded him that I had already done the work and he promised me XXX dollars for THAT work. He then told me that they *(the manufacturer)* was going to sue him for selling on the 'internet'. He told them he was getting a divorce and sold the speakers to me, although I wasn't a dealer I can indeed buy them and sell them if I want, as an individual that is. I told him not to worry, they won't do anything to me as I wasn't a dealer. Next day he called and said they were going to sue us BOTH! This boy pulled the ad and he paid me my freaking fee! (And he went on to sell them for about $15K taking a $8K bath in the deal, which was better than his soon to be Ex-Wife getting them!)

You may now return to your normally scheduled programming.

:iagree:The guys on DW are saying the same thing.

Just got back from the show, getting ready to go out to dinner... very busy day in the booth...

Here's how the day pretty much went...

Inflict sanding marks into black demo panel.
Fire up Rupes Duetto and remove sanding marks
Show people and watch them inspect closely and then say, "wow, that's pretty amazing"

Did the same thing with the Flex 3401 all day too.

The difference is with the Flex you apply firm pressure to the head of the polisher and with the Rupes Duetto you apply just a little more than the weight of the machine.

Very cool demo. Maybe I can get Yancy to film it tomorrow if you guys are interested...

If I have the 15, would the Duetto be better?
