New Shop is Getting Somewhere

Its been so darn hot the last few weeks that its going slow. Drywall is all up and painted. Was fighting with the power company all last week about where to mount the meter (that's a whole other story) Working on the ceiling this week. We will be using the same steel siding that's on the building but white in color. The reason for this is cost and ease of putting it up. Yes the steel costs more then the drywall BUT when you factor in all of the wood and work involved in drywalling it we come out ahead.

We did manage to get some speakers and wire installed in the soffit all around the building so we can have music outside :)

:postpics: (just change "thread" to "update")

Cool Dwayne! I've subscribed to this thread since i knew about it. :)

Okay, it's been a month and no new updates or pictures since the crappy phone picture of Garagemajal.

Sorry been super busy working on the shop. Its not finished but we have started moving stuff in. Today we are headed to Greg Smith Equipment to pick up the lift and shop equipment. I promise there are updates to follow.

Man, now that's what I call a shop "and" a collection!

You really know how to make a guy feel bad.....

Got the lift yesterday and snapped a few pics of where the shop is at now.

First let me say the Greg Smith Equipment was a pleasure to deal with. Greg Smith himself came out and answered all of our questions and took care of us personally. Very honest and super funny guy.

While we were there we picked up a few extras (84" 2 ton tripod stands, hose reals, LED drop light, wheel dollies and an 18 gal upright oil drain).

We went with the Atlas OH9000 2 post lift as it seemed to have all of the features that we were looking for.

Loading it was the easy part, the head scratching came when we were trying to decided how 2 guys were going to unload a 1400lb hunk of metal.

After a lot of thinking and breaking out the cherry picker we had it on the ground. Note we made use of 2 of the wheel dollies.

Now for a few pics of the shop. Still waiting for 10 more of the 8' lights. In all there will be 21 8' lights with 6500k bulbs (very bright).

As you can see there is still a lot more work to do and more equipment to move in including my tool box (big heavy and no fun to move).

The lift will not be installed until we finish the ceiling where the lift is going to be so don't expect to see it up any time soon.

WOW! I amlost fainted just looking at the pictures. Truly amazing. I bet you are looking forward to getting it completely setup and turning a few wrenches in there. :dblthumb2:

I really don't think the place is going to be big enough to handle the size of you and Danas egos, oops I mean talent :D

WOW oh WOW

That is Sooo cooool Dwayne, man I want to come over to your place and play Im the MAN :buffing:Im the MAN:buffing:

Ok I thought about it and its ok with me BUT you will have to ask Dana first since you will be sharing a bay.

Tad you can come and play anytime you wish. Just bring a helmet if you plan on playing on any of the toys (the guy next door a dirt track that's about a mile long that we can ride on anytime).
