My HHR SS is direct injection and is turbocharged, so it can definitely be done.

I'm not sure exactly what the smog stuff was in '73, but I know that they had started requiring smog devices by then (in California). I assume that GM made all of their vehicles California smog compliant so they didn't have to make cars special for just sale in California.
 
Oh. Well I doubt it still has it. It was originally a 307, but then my mom had it restored about 10 years ago as a hypo 350. And yes the V-6 can happen, but Chevy won't tell anyone how to tune their direct injection computers on it.... Guess they want to make everything harder since they went bankrupt lol. There is one company, STS, that has a single turbo kit for it, but it only makes 400 at the wheels then. They can't figure out how to adjust the injectors.

I did a little more research on this, and it actually was the Federal requirements regarding the smog. They also started having more stringent requirements regarding bumpers, which eventually led to Chevy having to do away with the RS split bumpers.
 
I thought this was about a shop build?
 
I am pretty stoked to see the lift going in. I think those look like a really good deal.
 
That is fantastic. That's exactly the same thing I want to build at some point in time.

I used to load a blown insulation hopper for Fleetwood Homes of PA. That is hard work keeping up with that hopper especially when you have to run into an almost empty 53 foot trailor to get the bags. Stockpile the hopper area and keep it stockpiled as you load the bags into the hopper is the key.

I am out of work for now with zero income until the next detailing job, If it payed for the trip and put a little extra in my pocket I'd come to Ohio to load that baby. :props:
 
Man, that's going to make a mess. We did blown-in insulation during renovations at my house, and it got EVERYWHERE.

Been there, done that...

That is a LOT of messy work sitting there waiting for you! I blew insulation in my house last year and we did my sisters house this year.

Good luck. It's worth it in the end with the amount of money you will have saved on the cost of installation.
