New SS (2% increase) tax in effect

I see so many posts like this on various forums, and yet nobody seems to speak us to their congressmen and women. Almost every one of them has a website where you can send your thoughts. Yes it may be hard for one to change things, but mass contacts and proper and thoughtful protest can. Our parents did it and perhaps its time for those of us feeling this way to speak out in a more public and dedicated area. I have an continue to send correspondence in hopes of someday making a positive difference.

As well, no one has any solutions. Just complaining... "Somebody should do something about this....NOW!!!!"

The answer to the problem is something no one likes, and especially not the baby boomers who seem to be good at talking to their delegates. Social Security isn't in as much hot water as Medicare is in. The drug companies are making a killing and no one wants to cut benefits, how dare they???

Interesting graph:

And look at Medicare costs ramping up:
Medicare Adding to Federal Deficits Faster than Other Government Spending Programs

And look at Medicare costs ramping up:

The chart represents percentages and show defense spending would still be very high if it not were out of control health care costs.

The private sector is doing such a great job competitively controlling health care (not) the government has decided to deal with it in their own way (not saying it may all be better).

Already did in many occasions but I live in San Francisco (the entire city is a social experiment) and it tends to fall on deaf's ear. Not a single politician or his/her people ever responded back to me.
