NEW! System One!!!

Ok now that you all are done with the yelling, lets get back on topic...
If you have used the System One with something other than a rotary I would love your feedback. Need some info on what pads work for what jobs... I will do my part to get what info I can together to better assist. I know a lot of you are using PC, FLex, UDM and need to know how to get that to work best with System One.

I actually just used this for a correction yesterday and I can honestly say I realized a time savings (not sure how much... I didn't really time it closely). But I have to say, it was on black paint and it was absolutely stunning finish! I was shocked!

Can you give us more info? Rotary or PC, which pads used, etc.? Thanks.

i tried using system one with the cobra orange pad yesterday...it still works great with the pc but is much faster with rotary

I just spoke with Tom from System One and he just joined the forum so he can answer your questions for you. He is the one you see at the shows using the products, so he is the best one for the job!

I usually don't like to post threads from other detailing forums but I found this thread on System One and found it very interesting for new rotary users. I have been looking at System One and trying to decide if the product is new "product hype" or a very good new polish to hit the market. Looks like some good answers to those questions in this thread.

System One Polish - Mini Review - Detailing World

Cliff notes: I am still getting my skills down with the rotary. This looks like a great polish to help me in honing my skills.

So let me get this right.....there is a "new" polish that claims to go from the cutting/polishing step to the finishing step by way of pads and there is no need to remove the polish residue but rather you can just polish over it? There is also a spray wax that can be used on wet or dry cars, can be used on glass and chrome, leaves no residue on trim and moldings and is super easy to use??

Man......that sounds familiar:confused: :D

thats a great post....i have used this polish at least 15 times now...i have used it with many many different pads...i have nothing bad to say about this product at all!! And you can also add water to it if you are working in direct sunlight! I tried it and it worked awesome!

This polish has been out for years. They use to have the older version of Systemone that was sold through Eastwood company. I found out about it years ago in a Custom Paint magazine like 4 or 5 years ago. They then improved the polish to the X3 a few years ago.

I wasn't aware it has been out so long, but I do think Anthony was referring to Optimum polish, which does the same thing, and also has a spray wax, once again the biggest difference from what I see on the video is the amount of product needed, 16 ounces of ocw will last a plethora more vehicles, if indeed the correct way to use the wax is illustrated in the owner of system one's video's. Not to mention there are people that supposedly get 4 and 5 months durability out of ocw.

Funny a few years ago I was trying to find what the name of the stuff was and trying to remember from the magazine article I read. I was doing some research and I then found Autogeek and Autopia and joined. Funny huh. True story. I then found out I was not the only one with the polishing disease.:D

I'm actually very familiar with the System One product, in terms of its history. It was demoed at the Car Care Expo here in San Antonio with Keven Farell.

My statement was meant to be rather tongue-n-cheek and not a put down of System One because I'm sure the new formula works very well but to rather say that a pad dependent polish is not "new".

As of late there hasn't been much in the way of "revolutionary" in terms of detailing products but there are some exciting things on the horizon that just may change that and those will truly be unique and "new".

Anthony

True Anthony! There are a few polishes out there that are pad dependent with the same polish being used. They are just not discussed or no one has used it as a one polish system.

System one has worked very hard on perfecting their system. I have not used the new X3 system, but I will try to get a sample to test and give my own professional opinion. The owner does have a ton of ambition and does show dedication for his system.

I haven't used Optimum polish, but their claims are very similar to that of SystemOne. SystemOne can take out deeper scratches (like down to 1000 grit), but for most of us, including me, that doesn't matter. I rarely touch a car with sandpaper of any grit, unless I'm doing headlights.

The company seems to have a similar philosphy, too, like not confusing the consumer with a ridiculous array of products. I like that. However, they do have two polishes...that strikes me a little odd since their compound only goes down to 1200 grit and their polish goes down to 1500. Maybe the 1200 stuff cuts faster and is geared more towards body shop applications?

I'd be curious to see how it performs on hot paint in direct sunlight, because that is still an important feature for me. Easy cleanup is also important.

I will get myself a bottle and try it out, especially since the price point on Optimum is way below SystemOne!!!

Has anybody out there compared the two?

Rydawg,
I broke down and bought a bottle to see what all the hype is about. I just got a small bottle, but I can send you a sample to try out or we can get together and do some testing together.

I also bought some new Meguiars 105 to try out as well.

Sounds great Rick! Let's do some testing this weekend. It's funny, I have had a ton of people ask me if I have tried these two new products and what my honest thoughts were. I hate when I can not answer people.

Give me a call tomorrow.
