I just purchased a set of Michelin Latitude Tour tires and plan to have them mounted next week.

I'm wondering what treatment would be best for new tires. I currently have UTTG, DP Tire Gel, Meguiar's Gold Class Protectant and Mcguiar's Natural shine.

I'm leaning towards the UTTG but would appreciate recommendations from those of you who detail for a living.

Thanks!

Clean them well first, something like Amazing Roll-Off. Then add the protectant of your choice, perhaps Optimum Optibond.

DP Tire Gel is a good choice.
But for durability:
Opti-Bond,UTTG,PERL are all going to be some good choices as well.

Aro as cleaner is great! I use UTTG for trim only, not that its not great for tires, but for the price I stick with it for trim.Opti-Bond is my go to for tires mixed1:1 and sprayed,It leaves that nice NEW look that I Like, and has duribility. DP Gel is a good product. Durability on the others you mentioned are not up to par for me,but thats my opinion.

Hope this Helps you and good luck!

New tires should always be cleaned well prior to treatment.

While I have Ultima Trim and Tire Guard I haven't been able to try it. DP Tire Gel works nicely leaves a nice rich black sheen but not a glossy shine.

I use Amazing Roll Off or Mothers Foaming Wheel & Tire Cleaner for tires and love how they both clean tires. Followed up by DP or Opti-bond and I am a happy boy.

I like Meguiars #40. Great look, great smell, what more could one ask for?

First clean them well with any decent All-purpose-cleaner and then dress them with the DP Tire Gel or UTTG. I would personally save the UTTG for trim as it is rather expensive.

I use Opti-bond personally, diluted 1:1 it gives me a nice "new tire" look without adding much gloss and lasts a good amount of time (2-3 weeks for me).

From what I have seen on these forums, DP Tire Gel seems to give very similar results to Opti-Bond so if you already have DP Tire Gel I would stick with that!

I've used DP and have gotten about 3 weeks in the nasty late March/early April weather we've had in PA (rain like 4 days a week). I haven't heard of a dressing that lasts much longer than that. Cee Dog convinced me to try UTTG, but because of the cost I'll save that for trim on both cars and the tires on my wife's Lexus. DP works more than well enuf for my RAV.
