First time on the AG site and I've been taking care of my cars using wax many years ago and switched to a waterless car wash product in 1998. We just bought two brand new cars...so we don't need to do any major work yet. I just purchased a Flex XC 3401 VRG buffer from the Pinnacle site and need suggestions on the best foam pad and size for polishing. There are so many great products on the AG site, I don't know where to start! Watched a couple of videos from Mike Phillips and I have alot to learn.

My favorite pads are the Lake Country 5.5 inch Hybrids.

Whoops, meant i liked the 5" hybrids but now i'm thinking of Mike's suggestion.

Hi Bill, welcome to AutoGeekOnline!

The Hybrid pads from Lake Country were designed specifically for the characteristics of the Flex 3401.

I also prefer the larger 6.5 pad size as of late as you can really cover a lot of area with them. The Flex doesn't care what size pad is attached to it. It will spin any of them with ease.

Hey Bill,

Next time you re-visit this thread here's a suggestion...

To get help start a thread with a good title, like

What pads should I get for my new Flex 3401?

The reason why is because people like me decide what threads to >click< on and read based upon the title.

Intro threads are for introductions. Beyond that, if you have questions start a NEW thread with a title that shows me and others what you want help with and you'll get a lot more replies.

You can post your questions here, which is a catch-all forum for any kind of question.

Auto Detailing 101

or here,

Ask Mike Phillips your detailing questions!

I try to visit my forum group everyday when I'm in the office to answer questions.

:)

Thanks Mike, I wish that more forums had pros like you willing to answer newbie questions and that's why I'll spend my money at the AG store!
