New to Detailing

I personally love the #9 swirl remover. I think it is a great polish and it made several cars I have done turn out very well. It is also very easy to apply and to take off. And I love the smell of it, I dont know why but I do.

ok I have been very busy over the holidays, here are some updates. new to my addiction are:
OPT rinseless car wash, very happy with it.
a Metro Vac N Blower, also very happy with it.

my 1st customer is my friends Honda S2000. His car's paint is rough, needs to clay badly, lots of swirls. I have more products now. they are all four star.


2116 heavy compound
2516 swirl remover
2416 polish & glaze
2616 foam pad Glaze
4016 paint sealant.

so my approach will be>

1) rinsless carwash
2) clay with meg clay
3) swirl removal with least agressive method, which is white pad at 1500?
4) polish and glaze with black pad around 1200
5) sealant with hand
6) wax when sealant is set, 6hrs-12hrs?

If any of the order above doesnt look right to you, please address it. I should of brought a DA but too late now, I got to work with what I have to make some profit and go from there.

detail is going on 12/14 and I will have pictures of course.

Im near NYC area.

The cold weather is in. any tips on detailing at this weather people? of course the detail will be done indoor, but I only have a portable heater and 1200w halogen light to heat up the place. Im not so worry me frezzing but the products applied to the car's surface.
 
Ok I work on my 2000 Audi, I used orange pad wit m105 at speed 3 and m205 with White pad speed 3 on my makita and I still have swirls, am I doing something wrong?

What machine are you using? You will have to step up the speed if using a DA 5-6 on the dial. And try a yellow pad or the new purple wool pad. My dad's 1992 short bed Chevy was a PIA to remove the swirls. It took 3-5 passes w/ the yellow pad and M1005. I was also using the cleaning the pad on the fly technique. Now all that is left are RIDS and I haven't even finished the truck yet. Lucky it is covered w/ a Covercraft waterproof cover.
 
I got a rotary makita, I believe I need one more
pass with the M205, the swirls are only visuable at a angle. I have two details tomorrow, a 08 blue honda s2000 and 08 vw passat sliver. I'll post pictures tomorrow night after I'm done.
