New (to me) BMW - any hope?

Hey Rob,

It was nice to meet you and spend a little time going over techniques for machine polishing. I really think the stains in your car's hood are pretty deep but if you massage them a little with your new Griot's DA Polisher you should be able to improve them enough to live with them while removing all the swirls.

Have fun!

That right there is some great stuff!! That's just too cool Mike and Rob!! I wish I was closer to AG...er..aaah..well...maybe that might be a bit troublesome.. lol

Good looking out Mike!!

Mike, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the time you spent with me this afternoon.

To all the forum folks following this thread I can't say enough about the great customer service at AG. Mike spent an hour with me today (at 4:00 on a Friday no less) showing the basics of machine polishing to a total newb. In a word awesome. AG has a customer for life :)

While my car may not be perfect, I'm excited about all the things to learn and making it the best it can be. I'll post pics of progress over the next four days...which are entirely mine to get to work. Woo!!

A funny quote from today while assembling my order: "we're gonna need a bigger box"!!

Thanks again Mike..shine on!

Well guys, after a long weekend of getting acclimated to the new Griot's, here's the results so far. Overall very happy with the results and in the end, my sore arms won out over the perfectionist in me :buffing:. There are still some issues but I'm betting it's pretty much only those of you out there who are obsessed like I am would notice at this point.

I compounded, polished, and used Blacklight / Pete's 53.

Thanks again to Mike for getting me started!

Looks great!

When you join AGO you get you're own gallery, I've downloaded your pictures and then uploaded them into your gallery and that makes it so you can "insert" them instead of "attach" them... like this,

I think you'll agree, its so much easier and faster to remove swirls and scratches out of modern clear coat paints by machine than it is by hand...

:buffing:

Nice results!!
Using a DA is so much easier, with the proper products of course.
