New to me car with some blems

Recently bought a 2008 mazdaspeed 3 and has some areas that need help.

There is this spot that I'm not sure what it is, it's textured above the finish.... Not sure if the clear is messed up but I have a feeling that I should feel it go into the finish but it seems as if it's on top.

This is after using my megs scratch kit.

It has been reduced slightly after 3 attempts, and probably won't get better with this method.
So what do you guys suggest, I don't have a machine yet, in due time I shall.

I thought about wet sanding it, but obviously I'll go into the clear and not sure how to fix that, polishing compound and wax? If I did that will it reappear after washing?

I have one spot like that, I believe its from bird bombs etching

Looks like clear coat failure to me, probably from bird crap.

I would just be extremely careful around the area. Seems like bird bomb damage and it also seems "textured" which would seem to be stage 2 etching which will require a respray.

I guess if a possible respray is needed, wet sanding can't hurt.

I will only try to make it better when I'm ready to get resprayed then, with any luck that won't be needed.
