New to the group-question on "down" months

Hello all! I'm new to the forum and new to detailing. I am very much interested in starting my own detailing company next spring (I'm ready to get out of the corporate world) Right now I'm more interested in gathering chemicals and products, spend this year promoting myself with family friends and creating buzz and gathering experience that way.

My question is, I'm from Michigan so at best I have a good 8-9 months out the year of good to decent weather. What do others in cold weather states do during those months of sporadic downtime?

Any experiences and stories you might offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

So this past year we had alot more rainfall then average and I only did 2 cars in 64 days. It was pretty bad but that's why is take as many jobs as I can, work extra late in the summer to I can prepp for the winter months.

On average my Winters are just maintenance washes and not many correction jobs at all. So I try to get as many polishes booked so I can try to increase my maintenance work load

Invest in waterless wash and rinseless wash for the cold months. Research which cutting compounds, waxes and polishes are compatible with the colder temperatures
